I recently tried the Hakka noodles and chicken corn soup, and both dishes were absolutely delicious! The Hakka noodles were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of flavor—savory, slightly spicy, and loaded with fresh veggies. Every bite tasted authentic and satisfying.
The chicken corn soup was equally amazing—warm, comforting, and full of flavor. It had the perfect balance of chicken, sweet corn, and silky texture, making it a great starter before the noodles.

I have ordered veg manchurian fried rice which was okay. I honestly feel, the manchuria would have been little gravy. It was giving burnt and completly dry.

The second one is, chicken sz noodles. Its a disaster. Im not sure if the chicken or egg is not cooked well. Its giving the raw taste and lot of ginger. No other flavour in it.

They should change the cooking style and give good food. Spending 14 dollars on each one and taxes we expect it better.

Been craving Indo-Chinese for over a year now and finally had a chance to eat some. We picked Hakka Express which is a food truck in a large food truck park, because it was a large order and the prices were the best among the now 5-7 stable Indo-Chinese spots in the greater North Austin area. The food truck park was pretty busy with a bunch of Indian food trucks along with a variety of other cuisines. They had ample covered seating and pretty lights for ambiance. Service was fine.

There’s also signage that says Halal so my parents ate here as well which was convenient.

We ordered lollipop chicken, Schezwan lollipop chicken, tandoori chicken fried rice, chicken Schezwan noodles, and chicken Hakka noodles. Price came to about $65 before tax. The noodle and rice dishes came completely packed and we were really surprised and happy about that. Really amazing portions.

To rate each dish:

Lollipop Chicken – 9/10: These are wings to resemble lollipops, marinated in spices, and deep fried. Absolutely nostalgic and hit all the right spots.

Schezwan Lollipop Chicken – 9/10: Similar to the above but tossed in a spicy Schezwan sauce. It was excellent & wifeys favorite though I prefer the original as it’s crisper and dry while this is wetter.

Tandoori Chicken Fried Rice – 7/10: Fried rice with pieces of tandoori chicken. This was okay and not my favorite mainly due to it being a bit dry. They did load it up with a ton of chicken though.

Chicken Schezwan Noodles – 8/10: Love the color, wife’s 2nd favorite. I prefer the Hakka noodles but this was a solid choice.

Chicken Hakka Noodles – 9/10: Totally hit the spot with the right flavors. Milder than the rest and just what I was wanting.

Overall, I liked the food a lot. I don’t eat Indo-Chinese often but I wouldn’t mind ordering the chicken lollipops or Hakka noodles again. The problem at this location its very chicken-heavy. I get why there’s no beef, but I do wish there was some variety with shrimp/prawn or lamb/goat.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hakka Express, and I must say, this place is amazing. The food is first-class, with a delightful variety of flavors that are sure to impress any palate. Be prepared for some spice, but it’s well worth it for the rich taste and authentic experience.

We sampled almost everything on the menu, and each dish was a hit. The momos and chicken lollipop were particularly outstanding—definitely the stars of the show. I highly recommend these to anyone visiting.

The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to bring friends and family. Like you are in a dhaba. The owner is exceptionally humble and welcoming, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. He prepares and marinates everything himself, ensuring that each dish is fresh and bursting with flavor.

Overall, Hakka Express delivers a fantastic culinary experience. Whether you’re a fan of spicy food or just looking to try something new, this place will not disappoint. I highly recommend it to everyone!

I ordered the Triple Schezwan Fried Rice and was really disappointed. The flavor was bland, oily, and nowhere close to the bold Schezwan taste I expected. To make it worse, it was loaded with peas—which don’t belong in this dish at all and completely threw off the texture and taste. Definitely not worth the price or the hype.

This food truck area has a vibrant atmosphere with a strong Asian crowd, making it a lively spot to visit. We went around 8 PM, which was peak time, so it was quite busy.

I ordered the Veg Manchurian Noodles. While the taste was good, the dish was excessively oily, and unfortunately, I found a small stone in it. This was disappointing, as better quality control should have been in place. Additionally, the 45-minute wait didn’t feel justified given the experience.

They offer a 5% discount for cash payments and a free soda in exchange for a review, but I chose not to accept it since I believe reviews should be fair and unbiased.

Overall, the ambiance is great, but the food quality and wait time need improvement.

This food truck has authentic Hakka Chinese food. It is the best it’s going to get here. The only other place I’ve had delicious Hakka food outside of this truck is Mississauga in Canada. Must try spot. My favorite dishes were the chilli chicken dry, lollipop chicken, Szechwan chicken.

The location is in the Anderson mill food truck park where majority of the other desi/south Asian food trucks are. Theres Plenty of seating options but it can get packed on the weekends.

I missed taking the pic of the food because we ate it so fast but this calls for a review update in the future when we go back!

Such a horrific experience. Waited for 1+ to get 1 dish – served wrong dish. Got back to them, waited for another 30 mins as they kept saying it’s ready when we asked for refund. They kept on saying it again and again refusing to issue a refund. Been here before, but this time it was so much worse of an experience. They should really improve their management skills. It was just not worth our time !! Not coming back !!

A MUST TRY! My most frequented food joint in Austin — I usually come here weekly and nowhere else compares, let alone with Hakka / IndoChinese food.

Manchurian or chili veg balls are my go to (usually dry, but sometimes gravy). Great portions that last me 2+ meals. Dangerously good and always freshly fried.
