Best breakfast in Castro valley I will definitely be back. I enjoyed there giants buttermilk pancakes and delicious Farmhouse omelet great selection of hot sauces. They have so many options on there menu its hard to decide. The mimosas look good! There staff is very welcoming and friendly my friend and I shared the meal and still had some to take home. They were open early and we didn’t have to wait as long as I thought we would. Even if we would have to wait there is plenty to do in the area. Great addition to the restaurants nearby!!

I’ll start with the pros: the space is modern, clean, and full of natural light with a great vibe. As a photographer and visual strategist, that’s what initially drew me in.The coffee was very good, and I was happy with that.

We ordered the Avocado Toast and the Blackened Chicken skillet. The Avocado Toast was disappointing. There were only a few small pieces of browning avocado under a large pile of salad and scrambled eggs, so the main ingredient felt skimpy. The overall flavor was bland. When I asked for more avocado, I was initially told I’d need to order a side, though they did bring some out at no charge–and those slices were fresh, unlike what was on the toast.

The Blackened Chicken skillet also felt light on the chicken. There were hash browns under the eggs and chicken, and those were actually pretty good, but the portion of chicken itself was skimpy. I’ve had this dish before and remembered it being much better on a sizzling skillet (not so this time). The scrambled eggs were a huge portion but lacked flavor, and both dishes ended up feeling more egg-heavy than anything else. I had intentionally avoided ordering an omelet, but both plates were dominated by bland eggs rather than the main items.

The unfortunate thing is that locally, there aren’t many breakfast spots like The Press or Grand Lake Kitchen, the options are interesting. Not sure if I will be back anytime soon!

First time at this breakfast / lunch spot. We got lucky getting a table, as they were busy and got a table for 2 in about 10-15 minutes.
There’s plenty of seating available, from indoor table and bar/counter, to the outdoor patio facing the street
We had the Breakfast Burrito with a side of hash browns (similar to the hash you get with Corn beef and hash), and Chicken and Waffles (upgraded to Korean Chicken).
I thoroughly enjoyed the freshness and taste of the Breakfast Burrito (chorizo, jalapeños, eggs). The hash could use some seasoning. It also comes with a side of refried beans and a slice of cantelope. Well sized dish for the price.
The Waffles were a good portion,as well as the chicken, although I’ve seen larger portions for the Chicken at other locations. Nonetheless, both plates were large enough to satisfy our craving and hunger. No complaints on portion.
We had fresh squeezed orange juice and an Irish coffee. Both were very good.
The wait staff were polite, attentive, and efficient. We asked for the check before the food even arrived as we were in a rush. We sat down, ate, and were out of there in less then 45 minutes.
Would want to come back and try the other Mexican breakfast options (Chilaquilles, etc).

An amazing brunch experience in Castro Valley. I would venture and say that this is the best brunch restaurant that I’ve tried in the eastbay. The atmosphere is very lively and it’s a popular spot so expect a wait especially on the weekends. I’ve taken my daughter many times and she loves the salmon burger. I got the steak sandwich and it’s incredibly delicious. The breakfast platters are amazing as well and everything is perfectly cooked. Portions are huge so it can definitely serve as 2 meals.

My family and I have visited multiple times and the breakfast hasn’t disappointed. Service was excellent and everything we ordered came in a timely manner. Great server and brought over all requested items.

An upscale breakfast/lunch or brunch location compared to a general cafe/diner. Service was exceptional and the food was very good too. The real knockabout this place has to do with acoustics and how the noise travels. It’s bad enough that when there are a lot of people in the restaurant, it could be a little difficult to have a conversation with a person sitting directly across from you. Maybe sitting outside might be a better option in this situation.

UPDATE: We went again and tried two new dishes that were both delicious.

We got the Loco Moco, and the Korean Fried Chicken fried rice. Loco Moco was especially good because they served it with real kimchi! YAY! And the KFC fried rice has a little too much egg. There is egg in the rice and egg on top. Too MUCH egg for my taste!

The restaurant has been around for a bit now and already has a great reputation. They did a great job renovating the space from the sad restaurant it was before. It’s beautiful and bright inside! The menu is diverse and has a ton to choose from, although there was some serious fading on the menu from wear and tear, and it was hardly legible on one of them. I’d recommend protecting it somehow since it appears to be paper and ink. My only other recommendation is that they need more staff. It was completely packed on Saturday morning, which I’m guessing is not unusual. They could have turned our table over much faster, but we spent an unusual amount of time waiting to order, get drink service, get sugar, get our food, and then get our check. The food was excellent though and we would come back again for sure! Love this new addition to the area!

The food was amazing! They offer combo plates of their eggs Benedict and their pancakes/waffles/French toast, so you can pick 2 different flavors or Benedicts to try and 3 different pancakes/waffles/ French toast. It is the perfect way to try the many delicious flavors and a great way to get something to share.

We had a very unpleasant experience here. We arrived at 9:00 a.m. with four people, including a 70-year-old elder. After less than 1.5 hours of dining, two servers came by three times asking if we wanted to pack up our food, even though we clearly said we were still eating. Then at 10:42 a.m., the manager came with to-go boxes and insisted on packing our food, saying that a party of eight needed our table.

This was shocking—we have never been rushed out of a restaurant in the middle of a meal. No one told us there was any dining time limit, and yet we were pressured multiple times to leave before we finished. It felt extremely unreasonable and disrespectful.

This was one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I’ve ever had. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.

Ordered the ribeye sandwich (after the waiter recommended) Asked for it medium rare. Received it medium well the first time. Requested a new one, but it came back the same. Had to end up taking it to go. Also the potatoes that came with the omelet were not good.
