Reviews
Went for Mother’s Day dinner and we arrived a bit early for our reservations. They sat us quickly and the waitress + hostess were lovely! The menu is simple, which makes it easy to decide. Typical American/Maryland food such as catfish, crab cakes, seafood pastas.
Oysters were fresh and delicious; shrimp lettuce tacos were good and something different from what we see on menus from the area! The main course – my family shared the crab cakes and Cajun pasta! Plenty for all 3 of us adults. Crab cakes were alright, I prefer island hideaway from Solomon’s, but these were solid. Cajun pasta was a hit and it wasn’t too rich! Lots of shrimp and sausage.
Food met our expectations and we’d love to come again to hang outside and try some of their crushes!
Unrealistic fried oysters order, 2 and half oysters.
1 lb steamed shrimp that actually weighs 0.6. Never again
Cream of crab soup… Yum. Crab cakes were delicious with barely any filler (just enough to hold them together).
We also had shrimp, carrots, and fingerling potatoes. All done very nicely.
I have just a one star demerit for the margaritas. If you’ve followed my other reviews, this is an area of emphasis for me. Just happens to be the #1 cocktail in America…
So, the mix used was high fructose corn syrup based and sicky sweet (neon green is also a clue). So much so that I’m not convinced there was any tequila in them (Don Julio was absolutely wasted here). I am not asking for anyone to squeeze limes… But, if you must use a mix, there are some good ones that are cane sugar and fresh lime juice based. This is also very easy to do by making simple syrup and then having good quality lime juice. Price on the drinks was premium so why not make them taste that way? Of course, adding a splash of orange juice and Cointreau/Grand Marnier
(actually my fave is Gran Gala because it’s delicious and half the price)
Otherwise, cheerful service and we’d enjoy going back.
For starters, we ordered the kids hamburger from the menu for our pups, and they loved it. As for us, we couldn’t resist trying the bang bang shrimp and old bay chicken wings from the appetizer menu. The flavors were fantastic and left us wanting more.
My husband enjoyed a few beers while I opted for the Mahi Mahi tacos, which were absolutely delicious. To top off our meal, we indulged in a decadent Chocolate Moose cake and ice cream for dessert. The food quality was top-notch, and we left with satisfied taste buds.
What added to the overall experience were the various entertainment options available, including cornhole and ax-throwing booths. The promise of live music later in the evening was the cherry on top.
SALT provided us with great food, a pet-friendly environment, and an array of entertainment options, all set against a beautiful waterfront backdrop. It’s safe to say we’ll be returning soon.
