Santa Fe is a very good restaurant. We only sat at the bar, but the experience alone was enough to sell us.
The drinks were incredibly well made—strong, balanced, and clearly done by someone who knows what they’re doing. The bartender was phenomenal: genuinely friendly, made time for everyone at the bar, kept the conversation flowing, and never made anyone feel ignored. Even when things slowed down a bit, the staff used that time to actually talk with us, which made the experience even better.
The food was outstanding. We had the fried green tomatoes and they were absolutely amazing—perfectly cooked and full of flavor.
We just moved right up the street, so we’ll definitely be back. Honestly, the place is always full every time we walk by in the evening, so I don’t know if this review will make a difference—but five stars without hesitation. Would absolutely recommend and would absolutely return.

This was the best meal o have had in years! I had the Calamari and Salad with the complimentary Salsa and chips.
The food…every item was fresh and house made. The vinaigrette on the salad was awesome, the roumelaude sauce and salsa was made fresh. The Calamari was fresh and fried to a crisp perfection. The service was awesome and the day was beautiful. It is mecican at its base with a NOLA flair! Simply delicious food at this hidden gem on Esplanade Ave just down towards City Park from Cansenco Supermarket! You have to eat here! Price was awesome…you won’t find better food and value anywhere!

In New Orleans restaurants have to be good or they won’t make it. Especially in neighborhoods. Glad I found this one. Crispy salmon is superb. The best salsa (I was told they make it in house daily.) Kristy took care of me. Looking forward to getting back here.

Beautiful area of the city and a nice little restaurant. We ate on the covered patio. Food was excellent and nicely presented. Our server seemed upset with us, cause she was a bit curt. But the food and drinks came out quickly.

This was our fourth visit to the restaurant, and it couldn’t have been more perfect—especially for such a special occasion, my wife’s birthday. We had a party of eight and enjoyed outdoor seating, good service by Reggie, and exceptional food. I recommend this place without a single reservation!

Bar the doors to Santa Fe and hitch your horse to another restaurant! What could be absolutely adorable cafe and eatery is hosted by very rude senior staff. The dining room is their living room and the gossip is endless. Their travails are your background music and if you leave a plate for more than a minute, finished or not, it is collected and a check presented! I cannot imagine why wait staff feel entitled to a tip when they treat you as if you are an inconvenience. In a city born of food and culinary delights move on for the feed bag is also not so palatable. The garlic shrimp was drowned in a heavy brine rue accompanied by stale bread, the nachos were stale as well and whisked away to say you are done… now leave!
So I gladly Gallup away into the sunset!!!

I went to Santa Fe with colleagues from the VA. The first thing that we received was the chips and dip. The dip was very tasty but the chips were hard as a rock. I didn’t like them at all. For appetizers they ordered the mussels which I tasted and they tasted pretty good. We also ordered the Santa Fe Ceviche which they both thought was decent (I don’t like Ceviche so I didn’t taste it). For the main course they both ordered the Whole Fresh Fish of the Day which was Sea Bass. The presentation was amazing and looked quite impressive however, I tasted it and felt it was quite bland. One of my co-diners asked for salt so I’m going to assume that she felt the same way. At first I ordered the Pulled Pork Enchiladas with black beans, guacamole and pico de gallo. The pork in the enchiladas was very tough and seemed undercooked . It was also very salty. The black beans had no flavor but the guacamole and pico were both good. However, I sent the dish back. Instead the waitress (Holly, who was super nice and a great waitress) sent me the Lump Crab Salad with avocado, fresh fruit, and crostini bread. Since I don’t eat bread I can’t critique it. The avocado was delicious and fresh. As far as the lump crab meat it was more like shredded crab with some weird seasoning. It also had capers on top (which I do not like but it wasn’t mentioned on the menu). The strawberries were fresh and delicious, the greens were also fresh but I did not like the lump crab meat at all so I just ate the salad with a light vinaigrette dressing (I don’t care for cilantro dressing). Overall the ambience was nice. We sat at a table on the street in the front of the restaurant. I don’t think I’ll be eating here again because I tried several things and didn’t like most of them.

We have been loyal customers of this restaurant for 12 years, and we’ve always enjoyed coming here. However, today we arrived at 9:10 PM, and despite the posted closing time being 10:00 PM, we were told that they could not accommodate us.
This was very disappointing, especially after so many years of supporting this place. We understand that restaurants have closing procedures, but refusing service almost 50 minutes before closing felt unprofessional and not in line with the experience we’ve had for over a decade.
We hope management addresses this, because we truly used to love coming here.

I have been eyeing this place for quite sometime so after having tried it out I am really glad we made it. Ended up coming for bunch on a Sunday and everything we ordered was well made and tasted amazing. The food is all southwestern style, and the restaurant theme matches. Mostly everyone wanted to sit outside since it was beautiful out, but having taken a peek inside it is very cute and well decorated indoors as well. They had a small duo singing outside and even though we where further away we could still hear them. We met the restaurant owner he was very sweet and friendly. We started with the complimentary honey glazed jalepeño corn muffins. They are delicious but yes, the jalepeño are cooked in so be carful if you are sensitive to jalepeño spices bc they do have a light kick. I had the Rueda de huevo and I would order it again if it weren’t the fact that I would feel to need to try something new since most of the menu looks so tasty. We had a small child with us and they did have high chairs available as well as child friendly options from the menu. There where quite a few families with kids as well as other groups or couples of people, so a good option for anyone. Even though we cleaned our plates, we did managed to get talked into dessert since they had so many great options. The cheesecake is one of the best I have ever had in NOLA. Also, the Sunday drink specials might have you tipsy as they are a great deal!
