I ordered their lunch menu and their sushi and sashimi for 2 at dinner time often because it is a great deal for the quality. The staff is always extremely kind, accommodating, and efficient. I would strongly recommend this place if you are looking for an affordable Japanese meal.

Great sushi for an affordable price! And the service is always quick and reliable 🙂 This is a go-to sushi spot for us. The dragon roll and futomaki is great, and their udon is just right! Their veggie gyoza is also really good. And they usually bring out sliced oranges for dessert, which is a nice plus!

Excellent, affordable sushi in a cozy environment. The service at Maguro is always top notch and efficient, whether dining in or taking out. This has been my go-to neighborhood sushi spot for years! Never had a bad meal here. And, the lunch specials are a fantastic value.

Incredible quality sushi at ANY price. The rolls had Iots of fish with a thin layer of rice. Ver fresh. Greatly exceeded my expectations. Lunch special $17.95 for 3 rolls was more than I could finish. I asked the chef if I could take the photo and the waitress has to translate… he only spoke Japanese!

Excellent! Great location in Midtown. Ordered online and picked up in less than 15 minutes. Seaweed salad had a nice kick. Rainbow Naruto was fresh. Try it to dine in or takeout. Small, clean place.

My go to sushi place for lunch! I order every couple of weeks for lunch and it’s always fresh, packaged well, and really yummy!

Good quality sushi and I’ve never been disappointed.

The sashimi to rice ratio is elite!!!

Perfect prices and delicious food. I got the dinner bento box for $28.25. Comes with salad, soup, California rolls, edamame, rice and two choices of meat/or vegetables.

my favorite sushi spot near campus

their spicy salmon is the best!!!
their fried shrimp has lettuce which threw me off, but it’s one of the staple rolls i’d get here.

would love for them to offer better wasabi tho, no more bright green paste please.

great service, always nice and fast!

A very decent place to have sushi with inexpensive price in the city. I keep coming back here for their rolls and lunch special in general. The place is rather small with only a few tables, but I did not have to wait much if I happened to arrive at a busy time. The portion of their lunch is huge, especially when you order bento, rice, or noodles. My friend and I have tried almost half of all the items in lunch menu and most tasted great as expected.

I’d love to give it 3.5 stars but for overall value, my rating feels fit. Ordered the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and sweet potato tempura rolls (lunch special, $16) and the pork gyoza ($8). The sushi itself was tasty enough, particularly the spicy salmon.

But the spicy tuna was really lacking and the sweet potato roll was missing the iconic sweet drizzle found at other sushi joints (it left the roll rather dry). The gyoza is very good, super flavorful and tender. I would have loved to see some chili oil in the bag alongside it, tho.

Overall, for $20+, you can probably have a better sushi experience in Gramercy/ Flatiron/ Midtown. For a quick lunch it’s not and at all. But I probably won’t be rolling back into Maguro again.
