Celebrated an early birthday dinner at Tomodachi Sushi in Simi Valley—been going there for nearly 20 years, and they just keep getting better! We had the cucumber salad, seaweed salad, oyster special , our regular rolls including their signature roll, and the sashimi (especially the albacore) was so fresh . Paired it with a cold Kirin beer —just perfect.
Service was excellent—our waiter was attentive, friendly, kept our table clean, and made helpful suggestions. Still one of my top spots for sushi and seafood in Simi Valley. Highly recommend!

I loved the decorations, the sushi chefs and staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was great, and for sushi reasonably priced. I only got pictures of the fried matcha ice cream, which was delicious. My daughter is an avid lover of sushi so I had to focus on eating mine before it vanished before my eyes. She is already making plans to go again, which means the sushi was much to her liking (and mine).

If you are searching for a place to eat, STOP SEARCHING AND GO TO TOMODACHI IN SIMI VALLEY! The food and service were top notch!! I heard this place had A1 sushi and my expectations were surpassed. I HIGHLY recommend coming here, all the fish were really fresh, prices were fair and they offer a variety that most sushi spots don’t. My favorite had to be either the Tomodachi roll or the uni. The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and professional. Very glad I tried this place out, will definitely add this to my mix of go to restaurants around Ventura county.

I have been here a few times and never disappointed. Sat at the sushi bar for the first time tonight and Chef Steven was so helpful and friendly. Everything made was perfect. If you have an opportunity to sit at the bar definitely look for him. Wil be back soon

After living in Simi for 20 years, this was my first time here. Now I am really upset that I have missed this opportunity for so long. The premium sashimi plate was soooo fresh. Top quality, and I am incredibly picky having experiened the best in Japan over the years. Everyone else in my group really enjoyed their meals as well. There was not a single thing wrong. But above the excellent food was the quality of the service. Everyone there made us feel so welcome, and was always available to ensure we had the best experience. When my father was looking at the ginseng sake at the bar, we were even offered a sample without having to ask. Everyone had a smile and a truly positive attitude. Even if the food were not as good, I would be back for the service alone. They now have an eager customer for life. I look forward to my next visit!

This our new go to Sushi place. The fish is always fresh, the food is delicious and affordable. The staff is always very friendly. The only negative I could say is the decor is very blah. But the food and service more than make up for it. I ordered the Togyu special, Toro sashimi and seared Wagyu sashimi, and a roll, my wife had the Spicy Tuna on crispy rice, amazing.

I used to dislike sushi…. but this place completely changed my mind. It’s the first time I’ve had sushi that I genuinely enjoyed. A few days ago, my family and I visited Tomodachi, and the experience was simply amazing. The food was delicious, the service was awesome, and the ambiance was warm and inviting.
If you visit this restaurant, you absolutely MUST try the Tomodachi Rolls. They were crazy good.
