Showed up for buffet but found they didn’t have a buffet on Saturdays. Ordered a pizza to take home with a chef salad. I’ve never ordered from them before, I’m normally a Papa John’s fan but so glad I ordered from East of Chicago. It was the best pizza I’ve had in a long time.

Got the loaded crust pepperoni and it exceeded my expectations! And of course I got the Peanut butter and jelly dessert pizza, it is BOMB DOT COM! Y’all need to come just for that!!! Wish there was an East Of Chicago Pizza closer, but I don’t mind driving 35 min for this!

With so many other restaurants reopening, it was a disappointment that this location has dine in closed. Further, by having to take out, when I ate part of my pizza and discovered it was not fully cooked dough, I was already 20 miles away. Too far to take back to counter and ask to be remade. The dough as seen in photo attached, is raw for about 1/4 inch thick. Only crusted surface was crispy. Rest was dough and it gave me a bad belly ache once in stomach. Has to take simethicone to relieve pressure.

Update edit; Here’s a rewritten version of the 5 star review I had posted previously due to today’s experience. I have been coming to this location for years and have usually had a positive experience. However, today was extremely disappointing. From the moment I walked in, I was met with rudeness and condescension from the staff member helping me. She seemed irritated from the start, repeatedly asking me to repeat myself even though I was speaking clearly and asking reasonable questions about the menu.

Unfortunately, instead of answering my questions, she became visibly frustrated. As a result, I placed an order for a pizza expecting a deep dish or pan style, but later learned—after receiving my order—that those options weren’t available with the size I selected. That’s something I tried to clarify when ordering, but she wouldn’t explain.

When I asked for a remake of the pizza, she put in the request but then attempted to charge me again. I had already paid nearly $30 for a pizza I didn’t want, and was shocked to be asked to pay another $20 for a second one when the issue could’ve been avoided with better communication up front.

To make matters worse, I was sitting in the dining room and was never informed when the pizza was ready. By the time I realized it and walked up, it had been sitting there so long it was barely warm and had gone soggy.

When I asked to speak to a manager, she curtly told me she was the manager. I then asked for the owner’s contact information and was refused.

Because I’ve had many good experiences here over the years, I’m not going to tell people to stop going. But I will say this: be sure to ask questions about the menu, double-check that your order is clearly understood, and wait up front for your food—because it likely won’t be brought to your table or announced.

I still enjoy the pizza when it’s hot and fresh, but the customer service today was unacceptable. I’ve never been so upset and disappointed before. I hope the staff, especially those in management roles, receive proper training. If someone doesn’t enjoy working with the public, they probably shouldn’t be in customer service.

I hope the owner responds to this review.

Great place to take the kids for lunch. I have a very picky 7 year old and she was able to find something she liked on the lunch buffet, and that is always a bonus. It has a large large lunch crowd, and the buffet was kept stocked fairly well, with several options to choose from.

She seemed annnoyed when we walked in only had couple different pizzas out and brought out personal size ones and payed for Buffet. Old hard food was out than brought only when was gone for a awhile. The flavor was not good, and hardly any selection for the price. Definitely not worth the money at all. No one even said how is it? No thank you have a good day? So weird. Definitely see why they were not busy.:(

Wish they were back in Georgetown Square like they were in the 90s!
But I will drive a little out of my way to get the best pizza around !
Truthfully papa john’s, little ceasers, domino’s, pizza king, pizza hut do not compare to East OF Chicago Pizza by any means in the comparison of the quality!
The 2 Large Pan Pizza deal is my fave!

We always enjoy their lunchtime salad and pizza buffet. The salad ingredients were fresh and well stocked. There were plenty of pizza options and some wonderful looking soup!
