Great service Excellent food. Steak over done but they gladly fixed. Blue Cheese dressing is bomb! Best ribeye ever. Too much food.. always leftovers. They bring an appetizer platter with veggies crackers onion rings and chicken livers with their signature dip. Great prices for amount and quality of food. Highly recommend

Revised my review… Use to love it, but things have changed…

Gotta love that relish tray and the biggest chicken livers you’ve ever seen. The food is fantastic and service is always great. Definitely worth a trip if you’ve never been.

Well, this place use to be great, but this last time I went, I felt the food was not really that good. My steak was supposed to be cooked medium, but it came bloody. They offered to cook it longer, but I declined because I had already lost my appetite and knew that it was going to the dogs when I got home. I didn’t think the salad or potato was very good like it use to be either. By the time we left, and the price we paid versus what we got, we all four decided we won’t be going back. Kinda sad because we use to really enjoy this place. The server was the worst I have had there as well.

Seems like maybe a supper club stuck around 1970-80, so the facilities are very dated and don’t score it any points. Service was mixed: passing by the bar, the bartender seemed very warm and friendly, but our group servers were neither. However, the food was fabulous! Delicious, well seasoned, and tender bacon wrapped-steak, a perfect baked potato with a full 2 Tbsp of butter in a paper cup and good mixed veggies. The salad was a little limp like it had probably prepared too early for our group. Might not have been a problem with a regular customer order? And the rolls tasted homemade and delicious: warm, and fresh! Yum! Also seemed to be favored by the retired crowd– might have felt sentimental in decor and more affordable to them as a whole? If you like a great steak though, definitely worth a try! I would definitely go again!

I’m not quite sure where this spots reputation comes from. While the beef tenderloin was quite good, the menu overall felt very dated as did the restaurant. The relish tray, and potato selections were a letdown. The house salad dressings were a bright note as was the service. Pricing is high. We felt that there are many better spots to go for a dinner at this price point in the area.

What on an unfortunate experience. It took 30 minutes before the waitress took our order. We waited over an hour for our food. It was not that busy. Our food was served at 9:20 after they were technically closed. We arrived at 7pm. The steak was overdone & the hashbrowns burnt on top. The table next to us waited 2.5 hours for their order. Our waitress said the kitchen was backed up, but there were 2 other tables that were seated after us that were being served dessert before we got our main course. We mentioned our concerns to the waitress and was told the manager would stop by. Manager never came out but we did get $15 off our $85 bill. At Chicago pricing I expected better service & food. 50 years in business you should have no excuses for all around bad service.

We celebrated my wife’s Birthday here. My wife had the lobster which was huge and delicious (their cold water lobster is the best), I had their signature steak which was probably the best steak I’ve ever had. Others in our party had steak or burgers too, and they were fabulous. The relish tray is tummy, especially the onion rings. Service was exceptional, Alyssa took care of us and was awesome. Overall experience definitely 5 star!!!

This is definitely an under-rated restaurant. If you want a great steak, this is where you need to go. It’s still a very dinner club kind of feel, from the veggie tray starter to the low lights and candles. Don’t just drive by- give it a go! You’ll likely be wondering why you hadn’t stopped before!
