Service was outstanding! I got home to citrus county and we sat down and ate one of the best meals we have eaten out of Ocala fl in a very very long time! The flavor is on point everything from the main to the sides and the deserts oh laaaaawd !!!! Absolutely phenomenal start to finish both of us entirely stuffed to the brim. For those of you who have not tried GG’S Wake up you’re sleeping on them! So very pleased thank you to the staff whom were all extremely inviting and provided excellence. I will be back and btw …..much better than big mans in my opinion y’all killed it today

This is food is soooooo good!!! The staff is real nice and friendly too. Did I mention how delicous the food tastes? It’s perfectly seasoned. Everything is at the right temperature for you to enjoy it immediately without burning your tongue.
The mashed potatoes is the perfect consistency to melt in your mouth as it integrates with the subtlety seasoned gravy. The cornbread tastes like my Grandma made it! And it’s real cheese binding the macaroni together. 10/10 definitely recommend❣️

Really good southern food. So far I think the catfish and mac and cheese are my favorites. They are located right next to Tas-t-o’s donuts on 40. I plan to go at least once a month for purely nutritional purposes.

My husband found this hidden gem and had been wanting some good southern home cooking and wanted to check it out. All I can say is WOW! I had the country fried steak with mashed pot. An gravy with Mac-n-chz and my God.. my husband had the fried pork chop with green beans (and bacon mixed in) with fried okra and a side roll.. It was sooooo good! To top it all off tho I my husband saw they had a lil fridge in the dinning area and inside were all the desserts and they have the best banana pudding! They use a cookie instead of the nilla pieces that most places use and they have it on point.. many other things to choose from as well! The staff/family that helped us while we were there were super friendly and welcoming and it made that southern “home” cooking feel and taste that much better! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back soon!

Here is another gem in Marion County. Small soul food dinner on Silver Springs Blvd in Ocala FL. Tastes like Granny’s cooking. My favorite is the homemade Banana Pudding . The best I had in the state of Florida. Corn bread is perfect too. Loved the catfish fillets. Just everything tastes good. I suggest take out and call your order ahead of time. Sad to leave this review but GG’s has gone so downhill. The food just isn’t the same & is no longer worth the money. The Country fried steak is not real its the same frozen mess they serve in the school house … Turkey wings were slimy and had so much gravy on them that it covered my sides as well… Cabbage is even different and cornbread was stale … go back to the original plan instead of having so much on the menu

I went on a Thursday and had glazed ham with Mac and cheese and Perlo rice. My buddy got the Cornish Hen with cabbage and Lima beans.
