Food and service was ok. We ordered pad Thai and #57 (can’t remember the name). Both plates looked similar waiter mixed the orders and gave my husband the Pad Thai. The shrimp was overcooked. Husband said #57 was ok. Not sure if we will return.

Even though they were very busy on a First Friday, and they seemed to be understaffed, I’m still glad that we went there. The service was good (she was so apologetic for the wait) and the food was excellent. The location was decorated nicely and housed in a neat building. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for some delicious Thai food.

Everything about this place was wonderful. The food. The atmosphere. The experience. I ordered the Traditional Pad Thai, the spring rolls, and the orange chicken appetizer. The orange chicken was incredibly tasty and unique. I’ve never had anything like it. Rub the lettuce in the sauce then eat it with the chicken. It’s dynamite! Less “orange” than I expected, but it has great flavor. The spring rolls and the pad Thai were also great. It’s the freshest Thai food I’ve ever had.

On the atmosphere photo – I was here Thanksgiving week, so I’m guessing customer traffic was down.

Pete’s Thai on 5th is hands down the best food in Siouxland. Everything I ordered was absolutely incredible. The Traditional Pad Thai was perfectly balanced and full of flavor, the crispy fried tofu spring rolls were light, crunchy, and delicious, and the sweet potatoes fried in coconut flour were unreal—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and so flavorful.
As someone with a gluten sensitivity, I was beyond impressed. The options for what I could eat felt endless, and I never once felt limited or worried. It’s rare to find a place that is this accommodating and delivers food at such a high level.
If you’re looking for amazing Thai food, incredible flavor, and a place that truly cares about dietary needs, Pete’s Thai on 5th is a must. I can’t wait to go back!

Its ok. I tried the sweet and sour. That is definitely a no go. Nothing sweet or sour about the dish, but I ate it anyway because I was on my lunch break.
The servers seemed very confused on if they were bringing the right dishes to the correct people. Our second server had to double check with the person who took our order. Seemed like no one was certain about what was going on. I will come back, maybe in the spring to try again. Could have been the restaurant dealing with new people???

We’ve been eating here for years, mixing dine -in, pick up, and delivery. The current cook, (December 25) is making some very good food. Dine in is usually not busy, but I believe that is due to limited street parking. Staff is friendly, food is good. The menu is a mix of Thai and Vietnamese food.
This is one place where I would recommend you try it for yourself and decide.

Good experience over all. Not many customers when we went, but there was construction and also we were a bit past lunch time, so those probably factored in. The appetizer was quite good. Came with a small bit of Thai cucumber salad for a garnishment which was quite good all in itself. Meals were good as well. They didn’t shortchange on the garlic, which was fine by the both of us. They kept up on service, but didn’t over kill it either. Meals all came hot and fresh, and we liked everything we tried. Wouldn’t hesitate to try the same thing again, but their menu is extensive so we would also be very interested in seeing if we continued to like other things we could order as well. We will certainly be back, and it’s a good place for you to try out.

Walked in to order to go. Ordered it within 10mins it was out. That was red flag right there. Chicken Lop should take more than 10mins unless it’s reheated which it obviously was. The satay was reheated! It was dry. Not juicy and hot like it would be if it was just cooked.
Sticky rice pure mush. Obviously Re-Steamed multiple times. Plastic wrap was practically melted into it.
Pad Seew – Noodles Zero Flavor! Noodles were white! No sauce! Chicken Satay so tiny like a pinky on a small child. Absolutely horrible food! I should have known as last time we were very disappointed as well but wanted to give them another try. We eat authentic Asian food at home as Husband is Lao. This is awful! We live 30mins out of town I would have taken it back today but will tomorrow. The amount of food you get for the cost is also ridiculous we just started laughing at the size of the satay! Never seen anything like it!

** In response to owners reply.

I never said it shouldn’t be wrapped in plastic, said plastic practically melted into it.

If you read my review you would know we live 30 mins away. It was late and I wouldn’t have been able to bring it back the same night! I tried calling and kept getting busy signal. I brought the food back and you looked at me and said you believed me because I took it out of the bag and tried to show you! Which should be on film if it’s being recorded. I also stated I only wanted the money back for the rice & PadSeeEw! You insisted on full refund! You also blamed the cook saying they were new and you were so angry. You gave a full refund at your choice! Everything I stated is correct we have reheated sticky rice but we only do it once. This rice was re-steamed at least twice and over steamed! If it was re-steamed and left in a warmer it’s going to be soggy! Which it was! The padseew had zero sauce you even said so “just by looking at it” you could tell it had no sauce and again blamed the “new” cook.
I would never have left a review but this is the second time the food has been bad.

You did a great job remedying the situation, but coming to my review and telling a watered down version and trying to make it seem like I took a full refund but didn’t bring back food is a LIE!!! I brought the food back untouched! Offered to give it back and you refused! You offered full refund I said no I just want it for rice and one entree you insisted! Which was very nice but to lie and say I don’t bring food back wow.

Good but they changed the 54 (wonton soup) recipe. The old one was better, simple and flavorful. No need to add chicken and carrots. Also there was no bok Choy. New owner has changed a lot. I miss Pete’s Thai. And will always go to support his legacy. But please stop changing it
