We came here expecting a top-tier dining experience–and in some ways, we got it. The food? Absolutely phenomenal for the most part. Wife and I rarely get to go on nice dinners, so we went all out. We started with the Calamari, Rockefeller Oysters, and the Scampi. Rockefeller was the star of the app show by far. Scampi was great as well. Calimari was the boring disappointment. It just didn’t stand out, which is what I expect at a $350 dinner for two. Wife had the Lemon Dill Shrimp pasta while I had the Redfish Risotto (because they were out of the Sea Bass which is what I was going to get). The flavors were inventive yet balanced, the plating was artful, and you could tell serious skill went into both dishes.

But… the service? That’s where things got weird. Despite the high-end vibe and prices, we found ourselves bussing our own table–stacking plates, clearing glassware–because the servers rarely came around after the food hit the table. The place is tiny with multiple bartenders. At time we would look around and folks were standing around, all while we were stacking our plates on the table next to us. The drinks were great. I’m a bourbon guy and the Gulf was the star for me. Far better than the Lavender Smoked Old Fashioned. Having to wait 20+ minutes for a drink is unacceptable at a place like this. It felt as if maybe the manager was missing this evening, and had they been there, things would have been drastically different.

It’s a strange contradiction: impeccable cuisine paired with service that felt more like a fast-casual spot than a fine-dining one. If they could bring the service up to the level of the kitchen, this would easily be a 5-star destination. Until then, it’s hard to fully recommend, unless you’re coming just for the food and don’t mind a bit of DIY clean-up.

Stout’s at the Shore ended up being one of the best dining experiences we had on this trip. The food was outstanding — I had the blackened redfish, my partner had the Chilean sea bass, and both were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. We also ordered the Rockefeller oysters, mussels, the harvest salad, and two cocktails, and everything came out quickly, fresh, and beautifully prepared. You can tell the kitchen knows what it’s doing. The service was warm, attentive, and made the evening feel relaxed and enjoyable, which is exactly what you want when you’re out for a nice meal.

The only small downside for us was that there is no public WiFi, which was a bit tough since we were visiting from out of town and our cell service was spotty — not a dealbreaker, but something travelers should know. One other thing worth mentioning: whoever handles the online responses to reviews could probably take a softer tone. We almost skipped this place because some of the replies to criticism felt defensive, which didn’t reflect the experience we actually had in person. In reality, the staff was welcoming, the service was great, and the food was excellent. We’re really glad we decided to go anyway and would happily return.

Stouts absolutely blew me away! I ordered the Chilean seabass with crab and asparagus risotto, and it was nothing short of incredible. The seabass was perfectly cooked—tender, flaky, and full of flavor—while the crab added such a rich, decadent touch. The asparagus risotto was creamy, fresh, and balanced the dish beautifully. Every bite felt like something special.

A huge shoutout to Cooper, our waiter, who made the experience even better with outstanding service—attentive, friendly, and truly on point the entire evening.

And then… the bread pudding. Wow. Hands down one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time—warm, comforting, and just the right amount of sweetness. Truly the perfect way to end an amazing meal.

From the food to the service to the overall experience, Stouts delivers on every level. If you’re looking for a place that serves unforgettable dishes and leaves you already planning your next visit, this is it. Highly recommend! ️✨

We just had one of the best meals we’ve had in ages! I’m still thinking about it hours later! From the second we walked in, the vibe was perfect: warm, inviting, and buzzing with energy without being overwhelming. The staff greeted us like old friends, and our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about the menu: such a refreshing change! The food? Absolute perfection We started with shrimp scampy, which was out-of-this-world creamy, flaming hot, and packed with flavor. My main dish was the fillet, cooked exactly to perfection!! Juicy, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Every bite was an explosion of taste; the seasoning, the freshness of the ingredients, and the creativity in the dishes were next level. Don’t skip dessert! We shared the chocolate cake and the KeyLime pie, and it was the ideal sweet finish with *perfect* whipped cream. Portions were generous, everything came out hot and timed perfectly, and even the little touches made it feel special. Prices felt more than fair for the quality and experience we got. This place isn’t just a restaurant… it’s a memorable experience. We’ve already told all our friends and are planning our next visit. If you’re on the fence, just go! You won’t regret it. Hands down one of the best restaurants I have been to! Highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back! 10 outta 10!!!

It was basically a nicer Olive Garden but no where near the level of Lisabellas, so just go there. The bar is cool and the two women working the bar basically kept it all together with drinks for the restaurant, but let’s start with that amazing looking bread that tasted like cardboard. Clearly someone missed an ingredient or two. The goat cheese salad had wilted and warm lettuce that looked old. My shrimp scampi wasn’t terrible, but the chunks of garlic and sauce made it seem like the shrimp wasn’t cooked in it but instead the sauce was just poured over some boiled shrimp. I’m not expecting James Beard quality food on the Island, but for these prices…ugh. Btw, you can get great food on the Island…right next door.

Loved it! Mel was our server and is a total gem! food was astounding for Port A. Will definitely be back on our next family trip. Definitely family-friendly, so if you’re looking for a romantic dinner sans kids, maybe not the place to go as almost every table had kids. But! If you consider yourself a “foodie” definitely check this one out. The mussels were soooo good! We also got the Lamb chops and the Chilean sea bass. Also very good! thank you guys for bringing a classy, high quality eatery to Port A! Kuddos!

We were in Port Aransas for a few nights and had my birthday dinner here. The restaurant is cute.

We ordered their scallops, rosemary chicken and steak and focassia bread. The rosemary chicken was alright, but the mashed potatoes it came with were really good. The bread and the dipping sauce was so good. Steak and scallops were fantastic.

The bread pudding was yummy. I enjoyed the hibiscus lemonade but had to water it down because it was too sweet. Looking back I wish I would have ordered steak or their Chicken Alfredo.

We called in at 9:23pm on a Sat night, holiday weekend, and asked if we were there in 5 min, could they serve us. Answer: we’re full on tables and bar is full, sorry, no. We decided to go anyway and try. We arrived and at least half the tables were open; the bar was full. So disappointing to have been told that. There were at least 3 gals at the front too. We asked if we could sit and order and one said, sure, no problem. We ordered a Wedge Salad. I confirmed it came w/bacon as I did not want additional protein. Menu said bacon bits, blue cheese dressing. The tomatoes were so marinated in basalmic vinegar- very uncharacteristic of a Wedge and there were no bacon bits. Awkwardly not great but I ate it. I did tell serve- that salad was weird with so much vinegar and it did not have any bacon. She just said , oh. My husband ordered mussels. They were SOOO spicy. Nowhere on menu does the description say anything about spice at all. He ate it anyway and did not complain. All in all, very disappointing. Expect better from this location in the beautiful Cinnamon Shores. Oh and “Stouts” we both expected some beer selections but no drafts. My old fashioned was good. Likely will not return.
