Our server from the beginning seemed way too overwhelmed and we were his only table for the first 30 minutes of us being there. (We were a 2 top) . Everytime we had a question he was either •walking away while responding or •walked away completely (without a word) after we asked then came back to respond. He also was speaking way to fast to be able to understand him so when my mom didn’t hear him say “give me a moment” it caught us off guard when he repeated it back with a harsher tone and by putting his finger up. I’m not sure if he was stressed because of a back of house issue but that’s definitely something management should be handling not the server who’s main focus should be the guest’s experience. Once a bigger table came in (about 3-4 guests) he just completely ignored our table. We cleaned the table up to show we were finished and I waited patiently for him to at least walk by so I could ask for a to go box but after 15-20 minutes i decided to just go to the front to ask for one and see how we were suppose to get our bill.
My experience with the food wasn’t too great either. My mom’s plate came out before mine, she didn’t have any issues with her meal and she said they tasted great. Mine came out about 6-8 minutes later despite the plate being warm to the touch ,the food was completely cold. I was already not having a great experience and didn’t want to wait to get it reheated so I ate 2 and just decided I’d take it to go and reheat it at home. The sauce itself didn’t have as much flavor as I had hoped and the beans were pretty watery but I’m hungry and not one to waste food so honestly I’ll just fix it up at home. I’m sure it’ll taste better heated up.
I’ve been told the food here is great so if I were to come back I’d only do it for the food . When I came last year I had the quesobirria and it was delicious.
Final price was $32.96 for 2 plates and 3 drinks.
(Also the air vents were disgustingly full of dust and there was a bunch of water damage to the ceiling.)
I ordered a large cup of green salsa too! Just like grandmas, I love coming here.
This is disappointing because we want to support small businesses but next time we’re going to Cracker Barrel.
FYI- We also left a tip.
