We just moved to the area& decided to give Hunan Gardens a try… I called & placed an order… When I went to pick up my order which should have come to the total of $17.25, was $21.10… when I asked I was told a price increase of $.50 per lunch & $1 per dinner (which I was not informed of when I called)… So my total then should have been $18.25… I questioned the lady again & was told there was a $.50 charge for sweet & sour sauce… Which should have came with the meal… Even so that would have been $18.75… I went ahead & paid still wanting to give them a chance… Until I got home (an hour away) opened up our supper and there are 5 pieces of pork (pic with s&s sauce)… Seriously I paid $7 for 5 pieces of pork!!! I doubt we will be going back…

I was really hoping to give a good rating. But unfortunately very disappointed. I ordered several items for party of 5 and all were dried out meat, even the deep fried entrees were so unedible it was like jerky. Chicken low mein very little chicken so that was a bummer as well. I ordered a pao pao plate for 2 which advertised as fried prawns, egg rolls, rangoon, teriyaki beef, teriyaki chicken, fried shrimp and fried won ton. We only got 2 egg rolls, and 5 teriyaki beef or chicken that were so dry I couldn’t tell which was which. We did get 5 rangoons which maybe they were out of the other stuff so we got extras. My total cost per the menu posted, should have been $43.80 but was I charged $50 and I paid with cash. Even if 6% tax is applied it only adds $2.68 so again not adding up. I hope some of these things were accounted for just a bad day, it happens. But I unfortunately I won’t be back unless the reviews improve, best of wishes.

The best chinese place in Ludington! I’m so willing to pay more for each dish here than go down the street for tasteless chinese at the buffet. My all time favorite is Generals chicken! The pao pao plate is an AWESOME sampler of all the appetizers, you get 2 of each. Annie never disappoints with her food. They are still takeout only but like I said before it’s absolutely worth it & delicious.

I recently ordered from Hunan Gardens and had an extremely disappointing experience. We were charged $40 plus tip for just two entrees and an appetizer. To make matters worse, we only received one small container of rice. The food tasted as if it had been bought from a grocery store like Meijer and then microwaved. The quality was far below what I expected, especially given the high price. I won’t be ordering from here again and I do not recommend it to others.

The food they gave me was cooked with rancid cooking oil. I spent $10 for egg foo young and $5 for a quart of plain white rice. The prices were ridiculous for having such low quality. The oil was so rancid and old that my sweet drink and rice tasted bitter after. I’m so disgusted. They even included extra rice because they knew something was wrong with the dish.

Horrible! We will never go back!
AFTER we paid (far too expensive prices, and they charged us extra to use a credit card), we were told the fried rice would take an additional 30 minutes, so it was too late to cancel.
I’ve never had worse Chinese food in my life! The stir-fried vegetables were coated with UNCOOKED corn starch and tasted terrible! They left a ghastly coating in your mouth!
The fried rice had almost nothing but rice in it, with hardly any other ingredients. It was simply steamed rice with a few peas mixed in.
The egg foo young serving consisted of only two patties instead of the normal three, was SOAKED in grease, it was burned and the “gravy” in it was far too salty. Disgusting.
In the end, we threw the food away! We will NEVER eat here again, and urge you not to waste your money and time. We were ripped off and don’t want you to experience the same situation.

This is Take-out only. But we found the food tasty and the quantity was great. We had beef, pork and egg rolls and all were good. Prices were as listed and food was hot.

I have very good and very bad news for this place. First the good, the food that was hot enough to eat and not cold was amazing, great flavor cooked to perfection would have given 5 stars if not for the bad. 1 I ordered chicken cashew nut. It is supposed to be chicken in a brown sause with cashews. What I got was brown sause ( perfect amount tho) cashews, and so much celery I would have called it celery cashew with a hint, very small hint of chicken. 2. The beef/chicken taryaky sticks were amazingly seasoned but were cold. We had to reheat them here. 3 it looks like the owners live in the restaurant. 4 the crabragoos was so little amount of the crabragoo in it.( and yes I know it is spelled wrong I’m sorry ) 5 the egg rolls where like any store brought frozen egg roll not bad but not worth the price they sell them at. 6. idk if their prices are wrong on the menu or what, but I always over guess how much it is. Round up on all the posted prices. But it cost 6$ more than there posted prices. In final, it could be the best Chinese food in Ludington if they clean up the restaurant, fix their portions, and cut back on the cheap fillers.

I’ve been going here for as long as they have been around—probably 20 years. The food is great in my opinion. Annie the owner is always nice and everything is very fast. You cannot dine in any longer since the pandemic, that’s the only sad thing. They used to have a great lunch buffet, but no longer. But for a great carry out option, Hunan’s is good.
