I love Mediterranean food so decided to check Gourmet Gyros & Kebab passing thru the Bay Area. I ordered the Gyro Combo which was supposed to have chicken, beef, and lamb. I couldn’t tell what the lamb was..I don’t think it had any and if did I couldn’t tell tell the difference. The chicken was good, however, i have had better tasting shawarma chicken. the beef was tender, thin, and really tasty. It all went well with the hot sauce they provide on the table. The salad was pretty basic compared to what I’ve had before but it was good. I also ordered the falafel appetizer which was really good, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside . The pita bread, hummus, and Tzatziki sauce paired really well with everything. The 4 star review is due to this restaurant meeting my expectations but it didn’t go above & beyond. The plate I ordered was $20, it did have a lot of meat on it but I think they forgot to add the lamb, also we were the only customers there and they never checked on us. The 4 piece falafel plate was $6. Total was $29 with tax , it is pretty pricey but Mediterranean usually is.

Well i guess it says a lot if you’ve eaten at the same place TWICE in a week.

Fresh and tasty food at a reasonable price. Great also if you dont eat carbs…or if you love them.

Ive enjoyed the chicken kebab plate. The portion is generous and filling. Comes with rice, salad, hummus and taziki.

I’m sitting here trying to do some work and a nice gentleman brought me over a free cup of tea which was very nice.

This is my first time in this wonderful restaurant and it’s love at first sight! Very tasty food, very friendly staff and everything is spotlessly clean! I highly recommend it! My lunches will now be more enjoyable and healthy! I am from Russia and I am very pleased to eat the cuisine of our Turkish friends.

Great little spot for your classic Mediterranean dishes. Great spot for lunch as they have quick service. If you call ahead they’ll have it quickly ready for pick up. It’s not a fancy place, but very clean and with restrooms if needed

Gourmet Gyros and Kebabs is located in Redwood City, CA. They currently have to go only with some outdoor seating (not many) and it’s a nice small shop if you want to get a bite of good Mediterranean Food. I didn’t really see a parking lot nor really good places to park however next to the store, there is street parking for 1 hour only. I guess you don’t have to worry about the 1 hour parking as much because the food comes in hot, nice, and fast. The staff inside was very nice to me and they followed the COVID-19 procedures well. When I got home I was actually pretty excited about eating the food because Meddetrianian food is not what I eat often and I love expanding my culinary palette. I got 5 items from the menu which were the kebab wrap, kebab burger, the kebab bowl, lentil soup, and baklava which is a Mediterranean dessert.

The first item I will review is the kebab wrap. I thought the kebab wrap was one of my favorite dishes because of the amount of sauce and flavors that were in that wrap. You get the lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and that sauce in the wrap really tied in the dish. You also get the texture of the falafel in the wrap as well and I did like it with the leaf wrapped around the falafel if I had to be honest. I actually wish there was more of that lettuce wrap in there because that gave the falafel really good seasoning. In terms of the falafel itself on the wrap, it did taste a bit dry but they cut it small enough so it wasn’t top dry nor too difficult to bite. Overall, very nice wrap but I wish they wrapped it slightly better because the end of the wrap started to unwrap a bit when I took it out of the aluminum foil.

The second item I will review next is their falafel burger. I liked the falafel inside the burger with the vegetables and the sauce however, the burger bun itself was a bit soggy (it’s probably because it was sitting too long during my drive) so I blame myself for that. I did wish they toasted the bun to have some charred flavor. I think that would make the burger more flavorful and the bun not so bland. The items inside the burger were delicious though I thought the flavors were there, it’s just I wish the bun was maybe toasted.

The third item I will review is their falafel bowl. I appreciated the humus and the tzatziki sauce on the side and the mini salad too because that will help cleanse the palette. The falafel itself was grainy (which a falafel should be) which was nice for texture but the falafel was a bit too hard for me but once you bite into it, the falafel was soft on the inside and it tasted delicious. I did wish there was a bit more seasoning on the falafel to help develop flavors on the bowl. I did like the softness inside the falafel. I thought it was so delicious when you bite into it.

The fourth and fifth items I will review will be the baklava and the lentil soup. The baklava was sweet and very well flaky with that filo dough. I loved the flakey crust and the honey drenched on the baklava! It did satisfy my sweet tooth cravings but it was a bit too sweet for me but I loved it very much!

Overall, I liked the food over there and I’m sure there are other great items on the menu but the falafel wrap would be one of the items I definitely recommend. The staff was very nice to me and it definitely was covid safe! Make sure you support your local businesses like this one! Follow me @the.flexitarian.aholic for more food photos and reviews!

This place was super clean and cheery. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was decently priced. I wish my gyro was a little bit bigger and my fries were a little smaller but I can’t complain. I’ll attach photos of the menu

Honestly the best kabobs I’ve ever had. The whole meal was bursting with flavor. The portions were not only generous but the meat was perfectly cooked, soft and delicious. This is surely a place I’d put on my favorites & I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m back in town.

Had the Mediterranean Mix Plate. It’s was great, came with 5 or more different meats. Plus rice, salad, gyro bread and also tsatsiki and hot sauce. They were kind enough to give me extra sauce. Good deal at 20.50. Place was very clean, and can takeout, dine in or dine out.
