Our team was playing and it wasn’t on one of the local channels. We decided to check out this local sports bar after reading all the positive reviews about the new ownership — and because supporting local businesses is important to us.
There were lots of TVs with every game on, and the owner was great about putting on whatever matchup you wanted. The wings were excellent – something unique – hot with a honey mustard drizzle — and the homemade pizza looked amazing. There was a good amount of people there, all ages. The atmosphere was fun and full of great football energy.
I ordered a fountain Diet Coke and had a couple refills while we watched the games. When the bill came, I was surprised to see that I was charged $3 for each refill — the glasses were full of ice, and I honestly didn’t expect that. I have never been charged for free refills at a bar and when they keep filling my glass, the tip reflects that. I mentioned it to the owner, Brian, who listened, understood, and only charged me for one. That kind of customer service REALLY matters and made a big difference.
Overall, it was a good experience — the yummy food, the “fan”tastic atmosphere, and the way the new owner handled things all left a positive impression. I’ll definitely be back to try the pizza and catch another game soon.

My husband and I have been frequenting the Glass Onion for over 10 years and this past August it changed owners. We do miss the previous owner’s snarky attitude, but I have to emphatically state the Brian, the new owner and his family are doing an outstanding job with the place!!! Kelly stayed on as the chef, and the menu has changed slightly and for the better. Pizza has been added and, in my opinion, very tasty. My husband and I are usually out by noon to avoid the loud crowds at night, which gives us a chance to talk to Brian and other patrons. Also, Brian and his family have cleaned-up the place and added their own personal touches, not taking away from the quaint neighborhood bar appeal. I highly recommend stopping in and giving the Onion a try!!!

Under new ownership and it didn’t disappoint. They are clearly just getting started (otherwise I’d give 5 stars across the board) but… boy is it off to a great start! Bar pie was outstanding, wings good and the people were all friendly. New owner (Brian) was welcoming and acknowledged they are working out the kinks.
I think this is going to become a great neighborhood bar and I’m looking forward their success.

UNBELIEVABLE. If I could give this place negative stars I would do so with pure delight. Food (if you can call it that)? Revolting. Never in my LIFE have I witnessed a “salad” that soggy and brown. Service? Let’s just say I wouldn’t have ingested the drinks they served us even if I HADN’T seen a suspicious looking floater lurking in them. Staff made it pretty clear they did not want us there, and my dining partner and I were fairly positive that they were doing everything in their power to make us feel generally unsafe, or at the very least uncomfortable. Atmosphere?? I mean if you’re partial to dining in the slums of Detroit I suppose it would be right up your alley. That’s really the only way I can think to describe it.
Overall, my rating is, “The Only Circumstance Under Which This Place Might Have A Slight Chance Of Success Would Be If It Were Featured On Kitchen Nightmares Starring Michelin Star Chef Gordan Ramsey Himself And Even Then Our Lord And Savior Jesus Christ Would Have To Be Resurrected A Second Time To Cleanse The Earth Of What It Has Become.”
Whoever owns this place, have the life you deserve.

Hands down the best hot wings in Northeast Pennsylvania!
If you haven’t already tried them I highly recommend the –>
(Mild-Caesar-Garlic-Parm) flavor. You will not be disappointed.

the owner is very disrespectful . i was nothing but polite. when they brought my food my burger was still pink and there was a hair in my salad . when i confronted them about it they were nothing but rude when all i asked was for them to remake it.

One of the worst places I’ve had the misfortune of eating at. The entire place smells like mold and mildew, the staff and owner are completely rude and disrespectful, not to mention the food took an hour just to come out cold and bland. I wouldn’t recommend this place to the last person on earth.

Great place to watch football. The food was awesome and the bartender was really cool. No one ever waited for a drink. He was always around. I will be back.
