We specialize in fresh hand cut Angus steaks to order. The building was built prior to 1812. It has been through out the years a home, trading post, hotel, store and of course a restaurant. Stanley came from Europe during WWII in 1946, when he met Miley, they married then open Stanley’s & Miley’s café in 1946. Stanley past away in 1989. Dave & Val Baker bought it from Paris’s in 2015, then took on renovating the building back to the original wood work. Dave have been in the business for over 40 years, constantly learning and trying to give our customer the best experience. We mix our own spice blends that I have created over the last 40 years trying to improve. The original massive hand cut hemlock beams are displayed in the bar celling.

This was the first place my boyfriend and I went to during the yellow phase!!! The restaurant was clean, staff was professional and kind. Food was AMAZING!!! Had high hopes based on the reviews. Drove there three times only to find it closed. Finally ordered takeout..the woman on the phone was beyond rude, the menu on the website doesn’t match what they actually serve. Then the kicker is we were charged an extra $13, which was NEVER mentioned, for takeout. Prices are outrageous for portions. I ordered several entrees and they only came with a tiny bit of meat and a weird corn mix. Very disappointed and will not be spending my money here again! UPDATE: Please notice owners very unprofessional response doesn’t actually answer anything besides why they were closed…..

Great spot along the river trail to bring both your family and your appetite! There’s something on the menu for everyone and ample booth seating for groups. The BBQ Brisket platter was very tasty and serving sizes were good. The owner couldn’t have been nicer, and our server was kind and attentive. We’ll be happy to return again soon!

I have been wanting to eat here for a while and I wish I would have come sooner! Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The bbq bourbon brisket and the burgers! I was so excited to eat at Stanley’s Trail Side after hearing great things about the food. I made a reservation earlier in the day for 6:30pm that evening. We arrived at 6:25 and were greeted by the owner and promptly seated in our reserved booth. And the staff forgot about us. No one came to take our drink orders until after we waited for 40 minutes. There was actually a table right next to our booth so it’s no like the staff couldn’t see us, but somehow we got overlooked. 5 minutes before we were about to walk out and eat anywhere else, our waitress came to our table, apologized and said, “I don’t know what happened and why no one took your orders, I am so sorry. What can I get you to drink? Did you want to stay? It’s up to you! Please come back again! I am so, so sorry.” After waiting this long, we decided to stay and try the food. The food was delicious! And the waitress was very apologetic. The owner came to our table a few times to help out the waitress, but never once acknowledged the wait time or apologized which was the most infuriating part of the evening. She was the one who seated us and forgot to inform either of the waitresses that we were seated there.

You are right! Prices do need to be changed. We understand that. However, this is not our experience. How do we remedy this? I have an online receipt from my bank. I paid $50.25 + left a $8 tip. The prices you listed do not add up to $50.25. I also did not have cole slaw and wasn’t offered cole slaw by my server. We are semi-regular customers so you must know who we are or would at least recognize us. A $15 difference is pretty hefty.

Food is amazing but it is overpriced. A burger, chips and drink for one. Chicken tenders basket and drink for person two. Crock of soup for one of us. No alcohol. $58 with a tip. We used to go more often but won’t now. Atmosphere is clean, very clean! Food is tasty. Owners are kind. We did have an experience where we felt some rudeness but everyone has a bad day and we’ve not experienced that again.

6 person limit per group served to make our event very personal which was great. Had their Orange Crush specially drink with real honest to God fresh squeezed oranges. Had all of us raving. Good food and great portions. Very personable waitress
