It’s Italia

Social Profile:

It’s Italia opened in 1997 as a San Francisco style trattoria and pizzeria serving gourmet pizzas, house pastas, and creative salads, always with a California Italian flavor.Thirteen years later, having moved into the beautiful Half Moon Bay Inn on Main Street Half Moon Bay, our menu has expanded to include seafood and meat selections from our rotisserie and mesquite grill, artful pastas and award winning pizza, creative salads and antipasti, and an array of house desserts. A Tuscan style courtyard patio with fireplaces and a fountain is ideal for large parties and receptions. Our full bar and locally famous bartenders create a lively social ambience nightly.

Inventive pizzas, a full bar & a Tuscan-style courtyard add to a vibrant scene at this Italian spot.

It’s Italia always delivers, and this visit was no exception.

The burger here is deservedly famous and remains one of the best around, but this time I went with the seafood risotto special. It was rich, well balanced, and deeply satisfying without being heavy. Alicia ordered the carbonara, which was classic and spot-on. Another friend had the halibut special, beautifully cooked, while two others wisely stuck with the always fabulous burger. Every dish landed exactly where it should.

The complimentary focaccia deserves special mention. Warm, generous, and consistently excellent, it sets the tone the moment you sit down.

Drinks are made properly, and the wine list shows real breadth and quality without feeling bloated or showy. There are plenty of good choices across styles and price points.

Service is exactly right. Attentive, professional, and relaxed, with pacing that lets the evening unfold naturally. The location only adds to the experience and makes this an easy place to settle in and enjoy a long meal.

Bottom line:
Consistently great food, excellent drinks, thoughtful service, and a setting that makes you want to linger. It’s Italia remains one of our favorite places to return to.

We spent 8 days in California eating at many top restaurants and this little gem was one of the most memorable for many reasons. We had a lovely lunch on a quiet afternoon as our anniversary vacation was coming to an end. Our server was sweet, knowledgeable, bubbly and wonderful. And the food was delicious, especially my peach and burrata salad, and we had a lovely anniversary dessert at the end. I also loved the rustic, quaint atmosphere. It was cozy and perfect. I truly loved this place and if I lived local, it would be my weekly go to spot.

The food was very fresh. We had the beet salad, pizza, and carbonara pasta. Hubby had the Pliny the elder beer which he said was amazing. It’s seasonal and can’t get it everywhere. Service was fast and friendly. They also have a large dining area with plenty of seating.

We happened upon “It’s Italia” for a Sunday brunch while strolling around. We were so happy we did! The food was amazing! We ordered the best ever Crab Omelette with hollandaise sauce! It was incredible!!! And the scones with the fresh lemon curd was delicious too. Other people were eating pastas and pizza. It all looked outstanding! The decor in this place is just beautifully appointed! Every detail is well thought out. Our server Maria was outstanding! Our meal was actually brought out to our table though by the Chef… wow! I don’t recall the last time I’ve had that happen! There is a lovely back patio and bar area too. This place has it all, and prices are reasonable.

Excellent Italian family-friendly spot with an outdoor courtyard with fireplaces. The pesto cavatappi was to die for! And the focaccia bread, too.

Very good food and excellent service. We had the minestrone soup which was very good. For entree we had the linguine and prawns (tasty, both the prawns and the sauce were delicious), the house rolled gnocchi with gran padano cheese and truffle oil, and the flat bread with butternut squash, caramelized onions and cheese, both were good. The quantity of the main dishes is large, two main dishes are enough for three persons. The complimentary homemade bread with oil and balsamic vinegar was a nice touch. It will be a good idea to serve the flat bread instead, it tastes much better. The atmosphere is very nice, especially in the courtyard.

Food was amazing. Everything we ate was delicious and tasty.
Service was really good. Our server was very kind and recommended us drinks and food and served us with a big smile 🙂
Atmosphere look and ambience was good. Could have been a little more clean. Floor was sticky and the table where we sat had food on the floor. I didn’t wanted to step on it with my nice shoes so had to sit uncomfortable throughout.
Over all a nice place with good food.

As soon as we stepped through this enchanting space , the outside tumult faded away, enveloping us in a captivating atmosphere ✨

.The Mediterranean decor, with its earthy and ochre tones , evoked a scene from an oriental tale , each detail stimulating our senses . A fountain murmured softly , replacing the melody of an absent musician , while the stone walls, with their raw beauty , seemed to whisper secrets from the past .

The subdued light , filtered through delicate lanterns and crackling fireplaces , cast dancing shadows , creating an almost unreal ambiance . Around our table , three friends shared a suspended moment , where laughter and emotions intertwined harmoniously, each flavor savored enhancing the magic of the instant .

Seated on the open terrace , we were bathed under a starry black sky , adding an extra touch to this sensory experience and reminding us of the beauty of the outside world while remaining enveloped in this haven of peace ️.

It’s Italia, thank you for this enchanting environment. Thank you for transporting us to a parallel world. It was beautiful, it was magical. ❤️
