We’ve been going to Kobes forever but after a terrible call trying to place a to-go order it’s going to be awhile before we order again. The man on the phone had no idea what sushi I was ordering even after using the name of it from the menu so fine scratch that no sushi. Then said we couldn’t purchase extra sauce. I’ve literally always been able to purchase extra. The man was so rude. For the price point Kobe’s needs to get someone more customer service oriented on the phone…

If restaurant management cannot handle the large crowds from holidays and overbooks, leaving people waiting 45+ minutes, consider closing and giving your staff the holiday off.

Loved going here as a kid but I think it used to be a lot better. Their staff was much more fun and very consistent back in the day. Now I feel like it’s hit or miss. The food still great though.

Attention Owner/Manager:
My family and I went in today (June 3, 2025) for Hibachi at Kobe (Leesburg) around 8:15 pm. The entire restaurant was empty. There was one waiter who didn’t greet us, however we mentioned that we are here for Hibachi when he approached us. He sat us in the corner of a table, and we politely asked if we can sit in the middle. He got mad and screamed “just sit over there.” I responded “then we are leaving.” He said, “then go… leave.” As I was I leaving, I said “your management will hear about this behavior.” He responded, “stupid.” We frequently dine out at various restaurants in town. I can’t recall the last time I received this sort of service. If I don’t get a response to this review, I will forced to report this incident to higher authority.

We went there to celebrate a good tennis season we had. Almost all teammates were there. We ordered delicious food and drink. We talked everything but no tennis. We had a great time. Look forward to coming back again.

This was our first time here. Despite having an early reservation at 5:30 they were not ready for us. It was 6:00 before we had drinks. Pretty slow service throughout our time there. The staff who were bussing the tables were taking the dirty dishes to a station out on the dining floor right by our table. So there was a giant stack of dirty dishes a few feet away from us. As for the food it was ok. Mid tier Hibachi at best. Finally out chef. I thought he did a pretty good job. He went through the standard motions with the Volcano and train ETC. it was my daughter’s birthday and he did a good job of entertaining her. Not much interaction other than that but I could tell he was slammed with another table waiting. Honestly he is the reason I gave two stars instead of one. With a variety of different options in Leesburg area my reccomendation would be to pass on Kobe and go somewhere else

I recently have been going to this Restaurant for sushi. The gut who makes it for me is Japanese. So we talk often about a company I worked for in the late 1980s, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagoya.
We discuss The Process of how a Japanese company does business.
He and I love talking about it.
Oh and also they have the best sushi in all of Virginia. But most importantly, better than all the restaurants my boss, Mr. Ohuchi took me to in Chicago and Detroit.
