My husband and I visited The Sage Mule for brunch on our wedding anniversary, and it was absolutely perfect! The vibe and atmosphere were amazing, warm, inviting, and full of great energy. The food was delicious, every bite was fresh and flavorful. The staff was friendly and made our visit feel special. We couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate. We’ll definitely be back!

Wow! This was a great find for us, with just the kind of options for an amazing breakfast. We dropped in on a Friday at 9:30am and parking and seating were plentiful. We ordered a breakfast burrito, cheese omelette latte and the coffee cinny bun. Everything was generously portioned and delicious. It was a bit more than I’m used to paying, but we don’t often have such a perfect experience, so that made it worth it. We loved the atmosphere and our service was excellent. You knocked it out of the park, Sage Mule!

Service was great! Our server, Isaiah, was very attentive and kind.

Food was good but could have been prepared better. Once our food arrived, it was lukewarm and the cheese on top was cold, not melted, which would have made it much better. Still enjoyed my meal.

Coffee is delicious. My sister enjoyed one of their seasonal drinks, and I had a hazelnut latte.

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, and I would come back.

Hip little spot in Downtown Greensboro.

Walked over from the Downtown Marriott where we were staying. One of the only places known on a Sunday morning.

Interesting ingredient combinations, and we enjoyed very good service. I took a chance on their locally-sourced espresso (impressed that the waitress knew where it was from) and enjoyed it.

Definitely recommend.

Brunch here was absolutely delicious!!
We sat outside around 10:30 and Sarah did a great job taking care of us 🙂

She was personable and hilarious! We each loved our dishes. I highly recommend the crab cake Benedict! The textures are killer on this dish.
A perfectly crisped fried green tomato, toasted English muffin, spinach cream, and a poached egg.

Interesting place found on Google maps. Coffee was good but served barely warm.

I should have known better to stick with b-fast/brunch items but ventured a tad too far with the Pao Chow Chicken Sandwich. One star.

Service was good.

In the bustling heart of downtown Greensboro, The Sage Mule offers a brunch experience that elevates classic comfort to an art form, proving that even on a demanding Father’s Day, culinary excellence and seamless service can prevail. Our recent visit revealed a establishment firing on all cylinders, delivering dishes that delight and service that impresses.
The true test of a Southern brunch often lies in its biscuits and gravy, and The Sage Mule’s rendition is nothing short of exemplary. The gravy, rich with a distinctive Southern savor, coated fluffy, perfectly baked biscuits, creating a dish both hearty and comforting. It was a clear demonstration of culinary skill, rooted in tradition yet executed with precision.
Equally commendable was the veggie omelet, a vibrant medley of fresh vegetables encased in a tender egg embrace. It arrived alongside a generous portion of hashbrowns, crisped to golden perfection and seasoned with an understated brilliance that made them remarkably addictive. A Bloody Mary, robust and well-balanced, provided the ideal accompaniment, a testament to the bar’s capabilities.
Beyond the plate, the operational rhythm of The Sage Mule is a spectacle in itself. The service was extraordinarily fluid, particularly striking given the Father’s Day crowd. The staff operated with a remarkable cohesiveness, a well-oiled machine where every member appeared to anticipate the needs of both patrons and colleagues. This effortless synergy, which made a busy holiday feel like any other Sunday, speaks volumes about the establishment’s ethos and management.
A peek behind the curtain revealed what might be a key to their operational prowess: an expansive, thoughtfully designed back-of-house area. The sheer amount of working space afforded to the servers was notable, a rare luxury in many dining establishments. This ample room, seemingly designed for efficiency and flow, undoubtedly contributes to the smooth, almost balletic coordination observed in the front of house.
Adding to the overall ambiance, the restaurant boasts a curated collection of art, lending an aesthetic appeal that complements the culinary journey. The Sage Mule is more than just a place to eat; it’s a testament to how thoughtful design, culinary dedication, and exceptional teamwork can converge to create a truly memorable dining experience. For those seeking a brunch that transcends the ordinary in downtown Greensboro, The Sage Mule stands as a resounding recommendation.

First time visiting. We got seated within 5 minutes even on a busy Sunday brunch time. I had the chicken and waffle. Chicken was overcooked so a little dry. Otherwise the dish was good. Large portion size.

Was looking for a fresh quality breakfast and good coffee and was not disappointed everything was super fresh and tasty. Coffee is local and fresh roasted with amazing flavor (I drink it black). Ordered the breakfast burrito bowl, famous hashbrown (which was one of the best I’ve had), and delicious biscuit with jam. Highly recommend it’s worth the trip!! It can get busy so you may want to arrive early.

Went for brunch on a Sunday. Long wait despite several tables open. Service was slow and food was bad. Waffles were heavily over-salted (told new person doing waffles). Omelet served with wrong ingredients twice. “Avocado toast” had no avocado on it, but a thin avocado spread. Two stars because biscuit was fine. Will not return.
