I went to Le Mazet for my birthday and it was such a great, special experience. We started with the charcuterie board and ordered the steak frites, and everything was delicious. The drinks were amazing and the dessert was truly to die for.

The staff was so kind and made the night feel extra special, even wishing me a happy birthday throughout the evening. One of my close friends is celiac, and we were so impressed by how many gluten-free options were available. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable about celiac needs, and even the fryer is designated gluten free, so she was able to enjoy the fries too!

Overall, an incredible night with amazing food, thoughtful service, and a menu that worked for everyone. Highly recommend!!!

If you haven’t visited this charming spot yet, you absolutely must! The ambiance, delicious food, and cocktails will please even the most discerning food critic. Be sure to sample the cocktail “G’s Knees” alongside the mushroom toast topped with seared salmon – it’s simply divine!

Nestled in the heart of West Hartford, right on Farmington Ave, this gem is just steps away from Blue Back Square, where you’ll find a movie theater, bookstore, ice cream shop, and more.

Oh yes! If you’re reading this, go here right now.

Been a bunch of times so needed to write a review to spread the good word.

Last time, we got the chickpea fries, charred cabbage caesar (my god!), roasted oysters with a bechamel sauce, and croissant ice cream sandwich. They’ve also got NA sparkling wine that tastes exactly like the real stuff.

Everything was delicious, as it always is, and we’ll be back many times in the future and you should too. Ambience and service are top-notch too. A+ all around!

This is a lovely restaurant, I highly recommend the steak frites dish, mushroom toast and signature salad, the ratatouille was fair..the Italian fare lover in me would enjoy it more with cheese and beef with pasta. Everything else including ice cream was divine, service was acceptable overall, the manager was cordial.

Le Mazet is a truly authentic French restaurant and such a wonderful dining experience. The food is absolutely delicious — full of rich flavors and beautifully prepared, making it feel like a true taste of France. The atmosphere is charming and elegant, perfect for a special night out.

It is a bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth it once in a while for the quality, authenticity, and overall experience. A memorable place that I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for genuine French cuisine

Classic French brasserie in terms of food, atmosphere and service. Excellent hearty food at a decent price point in comparison to restaurants in the vicinity. Service is in line of a French brasserie- courteous, but not over the top. Do not expect the classic Americanism of waiters constantly asking how the food is, or trying to make small talk. The wait staff will make sure you have all your needs met at a timely fashion, while being conscious of timing of different courses.

I genuinely believe Le Mazet deserves all 5 of the stars I’m awarding to it, because we’ve been twice now and we loved our experiences both times. We came once for their duck and steak frites shortly after their opening, and returned most recently after our holiday shopping this past Saturday. (12/6/25)
This time around, we decided on the Brussel Sprouts, Steak Tartare, and the Croque Monsieur (which we upgraded to a Croque Madame) which my husband and I split together. It was a very comfortable amount of food for the two of us, we were satisfied but not completely stuffed, which was good because we wanted dessert as well.
Before deciding on that though, we ordered drinks to compliment our food choices. My husband got The Pinnacle cocktail and I got their pear cider. Both drinks were delicious, well balanced, and definitely had enough alcohol without knocking us completely out of our seats.
Our food was completed and brought to us pretty quickly, and every item was cooked excellently, with lots of complimentary flavors and textures added to make each item stand out in a unique way I haven’t found elsewhere.
Finally, we ordered the Pumpkin Spice Crème Brûlée and let me tell you, what a perfect way to end our meal. The sugar was perfectly scorched but not burnt, and the pumpkin spice flavors were an amazing combo with the classic texture. Our waitress was attentive and so friendly and kind, I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. We already know what we’d like to try next time we are there!

Found Le Mazet when searching for a French restaurant to celebrate my late father’s birthday. The quality of the food and cocktails was astounding, really capturing a diverse set of savory flavors. Highly recommend the Country Platter with bone marrow. Could not have been happier with our decision to attend!

We made 8p.m. reservations for Le Mazet’s New Year’s Eve 4 course special menu.
The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and tastefully decorated. The setting is intimate while also feeling relaxed and welcoming.
We were given complimentary champagne to start along with a potato skin with pate and cavier appetizer. Delicious.
For our first course we had the Casear salad and the winter citrus salad. Both were colorful, fresh and full of wonderful flavors and textures.
Next we had the French onion agnolotti and the duck tatarlette. The agnolotti dish was a rich taste sensation with gruyere, prosciutto and croutons. Absolutely decadent. The duck tartalette with cranberry and au jus was an amazing creation of moist and slightly sweet shredded duck atop a perfectly flaky pastry.
For the main courses we chose the Beef Wellington and the lamb rack with potatoes pave and broccolini. The presentations of these dishes were outstanding.
The lamb was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. The potatoes pave were delectable. The Beef Wellington was tender and also perfectly cooked and the au jus was luxuriously rich.
Dessert was gingerbread creme brulee and chocolate crepes! Both were amazing.
All portions of every dish were generous.
It is obvious that these dishes were carefully and expertly created and prepared with complete focus and attention to every last detail. It was one of the best meals we have ever had and was the perfect way to ring in the new year.
We also thoroughly enjoyed our after dinner digestifs, the Mandarin Napoleon, and the time the owner, Patrick, took to come to our table to discuss his choices and recommendations ( and samples) of both aperitifs and digestifs we might consider trying.
We met a family who frequently dines at Le Mazet and they recommended some must try dishes from the regular menu. They had nothing but high praises.
It was a very special night night of culinary delights and we most highly recommend and will be returning.
There is parking in the back of the building which is also were the entry is during the winter/cold weather.
