I live in Canada and think about Gus’s all the time. It’s been about 4 years since I’ve eaten in the restaurant, I used to go a few times a year with my grandparents, we love Gus’s. My grandpa Irwin passed in the fall of 2024, and he always wanted to take us here if we had time. I had the best lobster roll of my life here followed by an incredible tuna steak with a side of mashed potatoes, among many other menu items. Service was super kind, friendly and accommodating. I’m looking forward to a visit this February as it’s been too long.

Very good seafood and steaks here. I liked the bar area very much. It has a warm and inviting feel that makes you want to sit and enjoy the ambiance. I attended a party and ate in one of the private rooms. The staff is super nice and provided great service.

Unpretentious family restaurant with hearty entrees including seafood. Both the casual patio and the old-school interior, seemingly unchanged since the restaurant’s 1931 opening (“except for the booths being replaced”, said Ernie, son of Gus himself), are wonderful spaces to share a meal in.
Two members of the managing family kindly introduced themselves and made sure we had an enjoyable meal. The kaiser rolls, while bizzare outside of a delicatessen context, provide a warm and enjoyable start to the meal.

Cozy place to share a drink and great seafood, served in old Westchester style. Staff is very friendly. When you’re tired of chains, this is the nice kind of local spot you’ll want to frequent with friends.

Would be better if tables were bigger and less noise! Hard to talk and reservations don’t accommodate the booths. Fish was very fresh!

I first went to Gus’s with my grandparents in the 90s and remember sharing a pot of steamers. I recently brought my wife and son and it was as great as ever.

Man, I love this place. Was recommended by a friend who knows the area well. Had never been before even though this is apparently an old school staple. Reminded me of some of the seafood places I went to as a kid on Long Island. The fish is fresh and delicious, well priced and well portioned. The sides are simple (e.g. sauteed spinach, baked potato, etc.) but well done. Loved the baked clams and chowder, too. Service is fantastic and incredibly accomplished– can’t speak highly enough of the staff. Can’t wait to return!

Ordered 2 cheeseburgers over the phone to go. When the young man read back the order, he thought I had said swiss instead of cheddar. I corrected him and also repeated that I wanted them medium rare. When I picked up the order and got home, the burgers were well done with american cheese. The fries were soggy as they had been put in the same covered container as the burgers and they got steamed. That wasn’t too big a problem, just popped them in the toaster oven to crisp up, good flavor. All in all, disappointed. If I wasn’t tired and famished from a day of gardening, I would have brought it back.
