We started going here for trivia night. We have truly enjoyed our evenings. The menu recently changed. The food is still good, but we liked having the burger night during trivia.
The most disappointing issue to us is the customer service. Last week we went for trivia and ordered drinks. Our server brought the drinks, but never came back to check on us one time. We continued to play trivia and finally realized the server left without ever saying a word.
Last night we went for dinner. It’s a good drive for us. When we arrived, the server told us that they were closed for an event and that the menu was limited. We are understanding people. However, there is a Facebook Page and the website. Coordination and Communication are areas that are lacking. We hope all this can be rectified in the future.

We stumbled upon the gem of a restaurant while checking out the info on the Egypt Temple built near our home. Our visit started with a warm greeting from the bartender/waitress Stacey P. who is an amazing ambassador for this venue. She is a wealth of knowledge and a welcoming personality. The food is amazing! I had the Build your own Double Smash Burger which was cooked to perfection. My friend and his wife enjoyed the Prosciutto and fig flat bread and the Smash Burger with Swiss. My wife enjoyed the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken and we shared an order of fried mozzarella cheese sticks. It was such an amazing and relaxing experience that I would highly recommend. Being a Trekkie I give it 5 Live Long and Prospers! Transport you and your crew down for an out of this world experience and be sure to say hi to Stacey, she’ll treat you right.

Wow, The 1918 (previously the Palm River Oasis) is a hidden gem, and open to the public! I learned about it through our local supper club social group that dines at different eating establishments each month. Palm River Oasis was selected by one of our members, and we’ll definitely be going back. It sits right along Palm River, the building is fairly new, impeccably clean and modern, and has ample indoor and outdoor seating. Reasonably priced drinks, and a very decent menu for bar food – we tried the jerk wings, flatbread and mojo pork sandwich, and all were very good. Others in our group had the large pretzel, various sandwiches and flatbreads and everyone like what they had. There is also a huge room with a stage, available to rent for special events. Highly recommend!

We have been coming here for years and have always loved the food, atmosphere and service. Last night at our event, the menu drastically changed and not for the better. I understand trying to simplify things but to take away the fan fave staples like the Cuban, giant pretzel, greek salad, and all the sandwiches (meatball, Italian, steak, BLT, reuban) and awesome apps like the prime rib and Reuben egg rolls was a huge disappointment! We were a large party of over 100 for an event and all of us were disappointed with the menu changes. Granted, the smashburger was great, the fries were overcooked and cold and I could get the same quality burger at any place, PLUS why charge $2 for the same burger, but with sauce??
We always spend well over $100 each visit but until we are updated with a better menu, I don’t see us coming back for food and only make it to events, thats if the krewes even still want to host there anymore for big events. I hope this drastic change is just due to the major staff overturn and isn’t permanent.

Whether you are a Shriner, a friend or family member of a Shriner, a member of the community, or just visiting from out of town, this place is definitely a must-see!
I have it on good authority that there will be a food menu popping up in 2022, but for now, this place offers a sprawling full liquor bar, tavern arcade games like bowling and golf, a ton of flat panel TVs and a projector for sports and other goings ons, and an incredible view of the river with a beautiful backdrop, especially in evening hours.
It’s located in the Egypt Shriners Temple, completely open to the public, and they don’t disappoint.
You get to enjoy the company of friends, very reasonably priced drinks, and help a good cause with your patronage all at the same time.
Can’t think of a better way to spend an evening than feeling part of the community like the bars of old back in John’s Pass the for all the redevelopment.
Definitely a small town feel and everyone is happy to see you– even if your first time here.

I really wanted to like this place since it’s local and so close to our house, but both of my attempts to visit were disappointing. The first time was on a Sunday around 7:30 PM — the hours said they were open until 9:30, but when we arrived the gates were already locked and the restaurant was closed. I gave it another shot on a Wednesday and sat at the bar. In the 10 minutes we were there, three different bartenders walked past us without a hello, a drink menu, or even basic acknowledgment. After being ignored completely, we decided to leave. Unfortunately, both experiences left a bad impression. I can’t recommend this restaurant.

Love this place. Fast service, great servers. Love helping the Shriner children even if it’s just eating lunch.

I came here not knowing what to expect. The atmosphere is excellent as soon as you walk in. Very clean and aesthetically pleasant! They also have friendly and attentive service. I ordered their fried “Bird” sandwich and it was one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve eaten.
