First of all, I would like to say that I have actually been to Thailand and they have the best food in the world. Me and my girl like to go to Thai food places and try the food and rate it. First off I would like to say that this is DEFINITELY NOT authentic Thai food. This was food made by people just trying to make Thai food, but it’s definitely not. I went here because of the good reviews and it was supposed to be good and it was supposed to be “authentic”, the food was definitely not authentic and I would say the good reviews all come from people who eat unseasoned food, if you know what I mean? IYKYK. Good spot for date night if drinking only. I ordered the Thai tea martini and blah.. it was OK. The ambience is nice. The location is nice. The place is nice. The food is two out of 10. Learn what actual Thai food tastes like before trying to make it. I have nothing else to add to this. If you like your food unseasoned and bland you’ll probably like this place. Not going back ever.

Excellent eats. Atmosphere promotes conversing with light ambient music. Soft lighting, large bar area. Friendly service and welcoming decoration. Food and aesthetics are warm & inviting. Would recommend the Thai tea as well

I stopped by The Dara about an hour and half before closing, and I’m so glad I did. The food was absolutely amazing—very authentic Thai cuisine in a rustic, cozy atmosphere. First time there and I was impressed by Katie behind the bar. She was absolutely amazing—great service, very knowledgeable about the menu, pleasant and friendly to talk to, welcoming, and gave excellent recommendations.
I ordered Thai fried rice with fried chicken thighs, and my friend had the pad Thai with fried chicken thighs. The flavors were vibrant and perfectly balanced. The portions were generous and the quality truly impressed.
Overall, love the food and the vibe. I’ll definitely be returning soon to try more . If you’re craving authentic Thai in a rustic, cozy setting with top-notch service, this place is a must. Also the harbor is literary a block away, perfect for an after meal stroll ♂️! Great Area!!

What a let down. Went here with a party of six at 8pm on a Saturday night. The place look good, nice vibey music. We ordered our food 4 appetizers and 4 main dishes a drinks. The appetizers were our in 5 min, cold dumplings, overdone beef salad. The spice condiment trio had no prik nam pla, just saracha, chili powder and an oil. As we were distributing our appetizers the mashed ns are iut. There was no room for our individual plates on the table. They did not stage the food at all. This really ruins a nice dinner with family.
The “extraordinary “ crab fried rice was simple mediocre fried rice topped with some lump crab meat. Surprise surprise.
Six people had consumed food, packed leftovers and paid the bill n 45 min. That is the only extraordinary thing about this meal and place. We were definitely in no rush and never expressed anything about this me constraints.
We had planned this visit to Baltimore for a few months and this was apparently the place to get good Thai food. But it’s all relative, really not that good.
Definitely can’t recommend the place and won’t go back.

One of the best Thai restaurants in Baltimore. They also have an incredibly affordable Business Lunch deal, which provides 1 appetizer and 1 main entree for only $19 dollars. I came with a party of 4, and with each of us choosing this deal, we were able to sample 4 different appetizers and 4 different mains. The boneless fried chicken and lotus root were the standout appetizers. The fried rice was also fantastic. It’s rare to see an affordable meal as good as this.

We had a lovely dinner at this Thai restaurant! The ambience was great with warm vibes – perfect for a relaxed evening with friends. The food was flavorful and well-prepared; the basil fried rice was a definite hit with everyone! For the lotus root appetizer, the slices were a bit too thick and could have been thinner for a more even fry.
There was a bit of initial confusion with the seating and ordering process. Since we were a group of 10 with a mix of vegetarians and non-vegetarians, we had chosen seats that made it easier to share dishes. The server asked us to switch seats so he could serve each dish directly to specific seat numbers (seat 1, seat 2, etc.). While we understood the intention and appreciated the effort to keep things organized, it felt a bit rigid and unexpected at first. After checking with the manager about the situation, the server proceeded to take the order from one person to avoid any further confusion and the service went smooth after that.
Drinks were served first, followed by appetizers and then entrees. The portion sizes were reasonable for the price. Overall, a good dining experience with tasty food and a nice atmosphere – might consider coming back!

Always a great spot to grab some good food and drinks. Being a Thai spot, The Dara brings something different to the neighborhood that’s filled with plenty of pub-fare bars and restaurants. We got the papaya salad and chicken sateh to start, then drunken noodles with crispy chicken thigh (my go-to) and panang curry with beef as our entrees. For drinks we got the Never Too Much (tropical Rum-based cocktail with Campari and a mango foam) and the Lychee Mojito. Everything was incredibly tasty as always, and the service was kind, timely, and genuine, as it always is. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Genuinely top tier spot. The food, friendly staff, and atmosphere were perfect. This was our first time coming in and with ordering some appetizers, entrees, and a dessert, everything was lovely.
Special callout for the hatyai fried chicken and giaow pak.

This was my second time ordering Uber Eats and Third time experiencing The Dara, I am a 8 year pescatarian and ordered the drunken noodles with SHRIMP a $25+ meal and found pieces of chicken mixed in my food after eating nearly all of it. I called to speak with the Manager to inform them of the cross contamination and poor food safety by their cooks and I was laughed at twice and hung up on three times. After calling back the line was picked up and dropped they only answered after the 15th attempt they then answered then lied saying the call was “tied” up. I will never spend my money with them again.

Wow!!! First off, the atmosphere was very taverny there’s a bar in the middle and plenty of dim lighting and good amount of seating. Secondly, the flavor!!! The food was scrumptious! I enjoyed every last bit! The cocktails were beautifully made, my only mistake was changing the liquor in mine, (I was able to compare with the original and i messed it up lol! ) Everything was reasonably priced, the portions were good as well~ Service was top notch and super sweet. I enjoyed this dining experience so much!
