Ashtyn M always greets us at the door and takes extremely good care of us, we her.
We have tried both the speakeasy and the dining area. Both times the seating arrangements have been awful. The table in the speakeasy was tiny but that’s fine. The real problem is the chair they give you. I’m an average size guy and couldn’t really fit comfortably.
We then tried the dining room and got stuck at a table in the squished corner. The waiter could barely squeeze by the table next to us to help us. The other table was also so close we couldn’t hear ourselves over their conversation.
The drinks we ordered were OK but it’s hard to find a place that can make a good drink in little rock. They are fairly priced though.
The food both times have been very average. We ordered the shrimp and fries appitizer and the meatballs. The shrimp was average and the fries were pretty good. The star of the night was the meatballs by far. Very good very cheesy.
The short rib bolognese tasted like chef boyardee. The fettuccine alfredo was very lack luster, nothing you can’t make with a can of store bought alfredo sauce.
The desert options are very slim and just did not hit the spot.
All of this said we have never had bad service. The staff is very professional and attentive. I really wish the food was something I couldn’t compare to olive garden but here we are.
For the price you’ll pay for this place there are plenty of other resturaunts around town that are much better.
I was taken by our first entree’ which was an appetizer called “The Blue Crab Carbonara” which was filled with flavor and succulent garlic butter bottom. Then we finished with our separate entrees which we all tried one of and none of the entrees failed us at all.
This dining experience was awesome and I have already been back for some to go meals. This restaurant is the perfect hideaway and the service was wonderful. I do thank the staff for showing us top tier service. You can make reservations for the front only. The speakeasy is FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!! So please don’t be disappointed if you can’t get back there. This place overall gets my vote for one of the top Italian restaurants in the city.
PD: Make a reservation.
The only negative I observed during my visit on a night that was busy, but not packed, was potentially the need for another host/hostess. In addition to seating, the hostess also appeared to be assisting with table prep, and occasional service. I don’t know if this is typical, but could have been related to a staff member being out.
Nonetheless, as a first visit…I highly recommend George’s for an elegant night out to treat yourself or for a couple date night.
I intend to go back and try the wild mushroom & stracciatella agnolotti entree and lemon mousse (which looks to be a seasonal offering).
Every dish was balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with intention.
We ordered the lasagna, rigatoni with spicy vodka sauce (you must add steak!!), lamb chops, and pistachio gelato for dessert and each one stood out in its own way.
The rigatoni was rich and spicy without being overwhelming, and the added steak was honestly incredible. Cooked perfectly, tender, and packed with flavor. The lamb chops were another surprise. It was beautifully seasoned with herbs, not overly gamey, and really well executed (and I don’t usually go for lamb). The lasagna was classic and comforting, and the pistachio gelato was clean and nutty, a perfect finish.
Service was smooth, the space felt welcoming, and the kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing. One of the best Italian meals I’ve had in Little Rock. I’ll definitely be back.
We enjoyed very much. Drinks are also very good since we dinned at bar. The atmosphere is casual formal. Not really for young family with kids. But super good for two coming here for a quiet dinner. Don’t order too much food, their Cheese cake is a must after meal.
