This is THE SPOT. The brisket, the ribs, the baked beans, corn bread… everything was way too good for this spot to be this low key. The meat was tender and the barbecue sauce was awesome. Great serving size for the value. The owner is awesome and very friendly former NFL player too. The staff is awesome too, very energetic and kind demeanor. The place has good vibes overall, some Marvin Gaye and Eryka Badu playing in the back while you’re eating. I will be coming back, real soul in this place and you definitely taste it.

This was our first time here and we were really impressed! The service was great and the food was delicious! One of the ladies that worked there even mixed up a special hot sauce for my husband. We both had the pulled pork and fries. Everything tasted fresh and yummy. We will definitely be going back!

Today was my first time eating here. My husband and I both had the brisket dinner. The brisket itself left a lot to be desired. No flavor and sliced paper thin. The potato salad was your ordinary store bought but was ok..the fried okra was absolutely delicious though. The cornbread was cold and made a couple of days before and just crumbled so you couldn’t even eat it. However the place was clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I will be going back but definitely won’t be ordering the brisket again..or the cornbread. My husband said the cabbage was wonderful! They’re priced decently.

Really solid BBQ from an out of towner on the road. Brisket is lean and pork is juicy, both of which are my preference! Beans and potato salad are highly recommended. E at the register and the rest of the staff were welcoming and friendly. Highlight was the spicy BBQ sauce and chocolate cake (not eaten together )

I’ve had a lot of BBQ in my day, from Tennessee to Texas and nothing compares to Big Daddy’s BBQ!! Wife and I wanted some bbq, got the pork steak and rib tips. This is single handed the best bbq I have ever had. Easily in top 5 in nation. This is a must have if you can!

Some of the best BBQ and Soul food, period, not just in Columbia. We ordered two dinner plates for carryout with rib tips, brisket, mac and cheese, yams, okra, and cabbage, and a cornbread and slice of lemon cake.
The portions are generous and everything was fantastic! I didn’t know I could love a cabbage dish so much. They clearly know what they’re doing and put their heart and soul into this food, it’s all amazing.
The staff was super friendly and we can’t wait to visit again!
