I find the breakfast place here really good. The spread is generous and lots of greens and fruits.
Kudos to the pastry chef too!
I am lucky to be served by a helpful and smiley gentleman, Sir Jonathan. He was the one who showed me to my seat and chatted with me.
Explaining walking routes around the hotel. When I mentioned that I did not want canned or sugared syrup juices, he surprised me with a full glass of freshly juiced apple + carrot. And subsequently for past 2 mornings as well.
Many thanks foe the kind act and it really make me at ease from the start of the day.
when the front desk saw me carrying a box of mangoes, they assisted me. Not only that, they helped me pack nicely so that i could “hand carry” easily when I check out and while in airport. Thank you for being so proactive!
Well done, team Sheraton Manila Bay, we’ll done Sir Johnathon.. Thank you sir June and sir Vhoriz. Millions of thanks..
It is this reason that I have been a Titamium elite and lifetime platinum member.
Cheers
OmG, what can I say… Just when I done posted this review, someone knocked on my door and a surprised cake for a lone traveller! Thanks for the song by interns led by the sweet customer service lady. Thank you, Sheraton!!
My partner booked a birthday dinner for our family at Manila Bay Kitchen (Sheraton Manila Bay) last September 6, 2025 (Saturday), anticipating a truly memorable 5-star buffet experience. Unfortunately, nearly every aspect fell short—food quality, beverage selection, ambiance, and coordination all missed the mark.
Food Quality & Pairings:
The lamb steak was served with fried talong, okra, and kamatis with plain gravy—sides more akin to home cooking than fine dining. Wine, which pairs best with lamb, was not offered and I later learned unlimited wine is only available Sunday to Thursday. Serving lamb without wine on Saturday feels like poor menu planning.
The grilling station was equally disappointing. Beef kebab and beef herbs were served dry and tough—no one asked for preferred doneness (medium, rare, etc.), which is expected in a 5-star setup.
Lechon belly was tough; beef stew with ampalaya was an odd pairing; chicken inasal, roast chicken, and pork ribs tasted too basic.
Seafood—small squid, mussels, scallops, bisugo, pampano, bidigo—were underwhelming in both size and presentation.
Pasta had no toppings; sushi bar lacked flavor, with bland wasabi.
Desserts were clearly ready-made and unexciting. Even more misleadingsome desserts enclosed in glass displays looked like they were buffet offerings but were not included, resulting in confused and disappointed guests.
Drinks & Beverage Policy:
Basic drinks ( soft drinks, juices etc) were not included, except bottomless water despite this not being clearly communicated. Guests were told only afterward that drinks must be ordered à la carte—this feels like a guest trap.
Offering high-value dishes like lamb without corresponding beverage options—especially wine—is a disservice to guests and undermines the 5-star promise of Manila Bay Kitchen.
Service & Coordination:
Attendants were polite, attentive, and professional, which we appreciated. The real problem, however, was with kitchen coordination and menu execution—there was a clear mismatch between the buffet’s presentation and 5-star expectations.
Ambiance & Atmosphere:
The dining area was dimly lit with no background music, creating a dull, uninviting environment—especially disappointing for a birthday celebration.
I dressed up specially, expecting a festive, elegant atmosphere—but instead the place felt flat and ordinary.
Overall Value:
For ₱3,500 per person (drinks excluded), this felt more like a mid-range buffet, not a luxury experience. The poor food quality, incomplete beverage handling, and uninspired ambiance meant we left feeling shortchanged—when the intent was to celebrate a special milestone with family.
Suggestions for Improvement:
Align menu offerings with beverage availability (e.g., only offer lamb steak when wine is included, or ensure wine is available daily).
Train kitchen staff to ask preferred cooking preferences at grilling stations and improve meat preparation to avoid dryness.
Clearly mark items not included in the buffet (especially desserts in glass displays) to avoid misleading guests.
Include basic drinks as part of the buffet package or clearly state that drinks are extra before booking.
Enhance ambiance with soft background music and brighter, more celebratory lighting—especially for family events.
Improve coordination between service staff and kitchen to ensure consistency and guest satisfaction.
Sheraton Manila Bay should seriously consider this feedback. Guests celebrating special occasions expect an elevated experience that matches the brand’s 5-star reputation—and the price they pay. Right now, Manila Bay Kitchen feels more style over substance, and that’s not acceptable.
A bit expensive for Manila though – hotel clients get a discount
We went to the dinner buffet which was 2900-3000PHP per head. Definitely not worth it!!!
I would say their dessert section is their saving grace as the rest of the food was mediocre for the price.
The food is of a good quality and was tasty…I enjoyed the french onion soup and waygu beef burger with fries..
There was also a buffet available for a set price but we decided to order of the set evening menu..
The missus had mushroom soup and ceaser salad ..
Our bill came to 2,500 peso (40 euros).staff are friendly and efficient and if back in that area would definitely go back for another late dinner..
I decided to order a burger à la carte, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the service was amazing!
It was average and not any better than much cheaper restaurants we visited.
The service was very slow when the restaurant wasn’t even half full. They brought one of the main meals out with the appetizers. When they brought the main meals out at the correct time, both were cold and lacked much flavour. Very standard food and nothing fancy.
Asked if we wanted dessert, after 30 mins of waiting we called a waiter who just took the menus and didn’t ask if we wanted dessert. We then decided to get the bill and leave.
Overly quite disappointing especially for such a special occasion.
Save your money and go somewhere cheaper and probably much better and tastier!
I also had multiple meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at Manila Bay Kitchen during my stay and every meal was incredibly delicious.
