The food here is exquisite. The service couldn’t be better. Our server Kayce and our cook stood above others I’ve come in contact with. The charbroiled half pound bacon cheeseburger was in the category of foodgasmic. The desert was phenomenal as well. I highly suggest visiting the Black Canyon Bestro and you be the judge. Also, I’ve never witnessed a more organized and choreographed bunch of cooks than I did last night.

We loved this place! The food was excellent, service by Taneija (sp??) was superb, and just an overall great experience. The volume of the live music was a bit loud, but tolerable. I enjoyed a huckleberry mocktail. The suggested French dip and elk stroganoff were both excellent. Though we were full, once we saw the Buttercake, we had to get some. Oh my, delicious!!

My wife and I had the most delicious meal and enjoyable evening last night.Our waiter, I wish I got his name, was superb; as was the meal and the cocktails. It was a lovely setting with a very enjoyable musical guest. My wife ordered the Elk Medallions with an amazing pepper cream sauce over garlic herbed mashed potatoes. I ordered the bison tenderloin with Sauce Bordelaise served with crispy crushed red potatoes. I wish we lived closer so we could return to try more of the menu. We strongly recommend.

An excellent find on a Monday evening!
Great waitstaff, nice wine and food choices. A great top shelf old fashioned to start. Elk medallions for an entree, were over the top, and cooked perfectly! So good we bought the kitchen a round! Took a delicious pumpkin chocolate cheesecake and a bottle of wine home for later. Sydney our waitress knocked it out of the park!

While in Red Lodge this is a must! We sat at the bar both times we stopped. The first time we had bacon wrapped dates to start and Elk Medallions with a peppercorn sauce, delish. Next visit we started with the seared tuna app, for the main course we both had bison filets with a bordelaise sauce. Our drinks were on point, Bighorn Whiskey with ginger beer for hubby and then 2 Coco Caldera’s because hubby wanted one too. We would definitely revisit the place again.

Delicious food in a nice, cozy atmosphere. A few times there were some pretty rowdy crowds making it extremely loud and difficult to have a conversation which the staff didn’t put a stop to unfortunately. The staff is friendly but many are off putting in their attitude and demeanor. Not the best service but certainly not the worst in town either.

I was here on a busy Saturday. Sat at the bar as I’m solo. Kate was working the bar. I wanted something Huckleberry to drink, since it’s a Montana thing. She created an awesome Huckleberry martini. So awesome I had two! Kate was a delight, awesome attitude, incredibly great service, not just to me, but everyone I saw come to the bar. Then I had the Mediterranean salad. Best salad I’ve had in a really long time. She also convinced me to try dessert. The Salted Carmel Butter cake was warm, decadent and oh, so yummy!
This has been the best meal and experience I have had in awhile.. And I travel full time! Thank you Kate! You were fantastic!! (Someone should give you a big raise!!)

Food presentation amazing. Harvest Salad – Vegan… Great ! Overall food good, two exceptions. French Fries COLD when served. Chicken dry.
Restrooms very clean. All very clean.
Big disappointment was incorrectly trained or Rude waitress telling us if a larger party comes while we are eating. She will move us. We were 3 people at a 6 top outside.
We had already ordered a $12 shot gray goose and a $5 beer then she came and boldly stated this at the table. Group was ready to drink and eat. The statement started our experience off wrong. Policy or training or her opinion should be adapted.

Black Canyon Bistro is hands-down one of my favorite spots in Red Lodge. Everyone makes you feel genuinely welcomed the moment you walk in and the food is equally as incredible! Their French Dip is without question, the best you will ever have in your entire life. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Every dish I’ve tried has been delicious, but that French Dip is truly next-level. The owners here are absolutely amazing! Truly some of the best people you will ever meet. You can feel how much heart they’ve poured into this place, and it shows in every detail. If you’re in Red Lodge, this is a 10/10 cannot-recommend-enough dining experience. Do yourself a favor and stop in. You won’t regret it!
