I popped in for lunch one day and found the service second to none. They have a great selection of tacos and other dishes as well as a variety of sauces. Service from the back is good too. The atmosphere is a little dark but not bad. Very laid back. I’ll be back.

Here’s some favor, don’t eat tacos anywhere else in Pensacola. I’d call this and out-of-the-way taco place where you live close by or not, make the trip. I only have the tacos, but judging from the flavor, I’m assuming everything else was fantastic. I was quickly greeted and sat at my table with fresh tortilla chips and fantastic salsa. Tacos were great sauce bottles with an orange and a green sauce. Had a great amount of spice, but not too spicy.

We had a very good dinner, we had the Tacos, Burrito, Torta, and we tryed both the red a green tamales. The green was amazing. So we ordered 12 tamales to go home and freeze. Would recommend this place.

This place has friendly staff and very nice atmosphere. The food came out steaming hot. Salsa was excellent. The chicken in my burrito was pretty salty but good. Portion size is very big.

Best Mex in Pensacola. The tacos rival El Asador for taste and quality, and the tamale is the most authentic in town. The decor and atmosphere is really fun as well. We had a group of 8, and the service was top notch. Yes, it is kind of a weird location but don’t let it throw you off. This is the Mexican joint you’ve been looking for.

This is the place to go if you’re looking for truly authentic Mexican food. The restaurant is smaller and connected to the market. The food was excellent, even down to the chips, which were much better than basic Mexican restaurant style chips. The menu is a decent size and straight forward. Service was friendly and the food came out quickly. We will definitely be returning. Glad we found this hidden gem!

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday and had a good meal. The food here is way better then the food served in the restaurant next door.
I ordered the Tex-mex which was very good. Four tortillas that are fried then topped with seasoned beef, fresh avocados and a few other veggies. Really nice taste.
The wife ordered the Vera Cruz plate and said it was ok, fish was a little overcooked but the shrimp were well seasoned and not over cooked. Rice and beans on the side which is common and nothing to brag about.
The decor is really interesting and the staff came by several times to checks on us.
Good size menu so we’ll return to try something new. After a meal you can hit the market and pick up some ingredients to make something at home. Nice setup.

Firts and foremost, if you think Chipotle, Moe’s, Taco Bell, etc are real Mexican food this is not the place for you, in the other hand if you’re looking for something close to being Mex food this is a place where you could find a variety of dishes in a large menu to experience a closer taste of South of the border and no freaking tx mex, keep in mind food in Mex varies by region and the length from cardinal points and state to state increase the recipe difference, this restaurant represent where the owners and, or culinary region came from, without know them I could venture to say central Mex, anyway we for once found a place with good classic food where you can seat indoors (climate controled) to eat, enjoy the food and the memory, no doubt there’s many food trucks around town where you can also get good food, but not a decent place to seat down, the carne asada tacos are not too bad, I whish they make them like at San Jose in Mobile, but here at tacoMex the dinning area and restrooms hygiene are far better and combined with the fiesta decor inviting to come back. Stay tuned for more on this place, our breakfast chorizo con huevos and huevos a la mexicana were outstanding. 2nd visit late lunch I asked for the daily special dish, I got pork meat with nopales cooked in salsa roja with rice and beans, it wasn’t hot, but very well seasoned, I wished they had an all you can eat on that.

The only reason I don’t Give the food 5 stars is because iv had tacos in Mexico and Cali . But by far the best tacos in Pensacola. There chicharon tacos actually have meat not just cuerito like other places. Tripa is fried perfectly. Good salsas. Chorizo is homemade and they have Secina as well! I prefer it over el asador anyday.
