My husband’s steak was OK but not special but my hand battered fried fish was a large portion and the best I’ve had in years. Salads were nothing special, fries were good but ordinary. Unlike some other reviewers, we had very prompt service even though the place was nearly full. Would go there again.

Used to be a wonderful place to eat! Since the new ownership it has gone down hill. “Fresh locally sourced beef” is frozen patties. Let alone the disrespect from the owners towards long time loyal customers and their employees. Will not be going back and do not recommend!!

just came into town, stopped for quick bite. pleasant suprise, wide variety of good food, great service. BLT was fresh krisp, delicious, wife thought Ruben was delicious. sat at outside table, next to street nothing special, will be back when coming through town. offers Broasted chicken i want to try.

I have been past this place for years.. all the time traveling through Grantsburg WI I have it passed by and thought some time I should check this little place out, one Sunday while out on the bike, my wife and me stop in..
from the highway it really doesnt look like much,
but you go inside and it’s a good old fashion cafe..
I know this place has been here for the last 50 yrs..
I thing if you put 30 people in here it would be crowded..
but sometimes that makes a great dining experience..
We had dinner here.. they offer Broasted Chicken and Broasted Wings
along with other items..
the food was great! the Service was excellent..
and we would stop here again..

Took 50 mins to get 2 eggs toast and corned beef hash then eggs were over cooked
Asked to speak to manager owner came out with smirk and cocky attitude did offer to comp meal but I paid for it didn’t stop for free meal owner said only one person cooking
My question is then why aren’t you helping the cook your are the owner. Maybe try to change attitude don’t encounter an issue with attitude. Wait staff was awesome though

Place was cute and Kozy but the decor felt like I was transported back to 1983 . The server didn’t have much of a personality and was more interested in her friends or family members who came in . The portions of the food were huge but not in a good way. My wife’s hash browns were crisp on top but mushy in the middle. Her eggs were crispy around the edges [over easy] the steak must have been the special from the food distributor, ( you can’t fool a chef sales guy ..wink wink) I went with the biscuits and gravy which was more like sheet rock mud with old sausage in it . You could patch a hole with it . Just didn’t feel like anyone took it serious there . Good luck gals you better step it up to keep travelers coming through the door , we won’t be back .
