PUGGOS is a very family-friendly restaurant with a warm, homey, and inviting feel. One of the standout features is the large play area for kids, which makes a huge difference for parents. Puggos Restaurant is a true hidden middle eastern oasis in Montezuma. We enjoyed a fantastic brunch with great drinks, followed by an absolutely incredible caramel puff pastry dessert that alone is worth the visit.
Puggos offers a beautiful, relaxed setting and a Middle Eastern–inspired menu that is not to be missed. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, flavorful, and clearly made with care and passion.
They also serve dinner, making it a wonderful spot to return to again and again during your stay in Montezuma.
If you’re interested in taking your experience even further, ask about the jungle cooking retreats led by Chef Maya. It is a rare and inspiring opportunity to learn from an exceptionally talented chef in the heart of Costa Rica.

If you want to have amazing home cooked food surrounded by beautiful plants and a true jungle vibe, this is your place. The owners are so lovely and really give a family feeling to the whole place. The portions are good sizes and reasonably priced for the area. I have nothing but great things to say about the quality and creativity of their menu.

The owners Rodrigo and Maya are incredible hosts and make you feel so welcome from the moment you arrive. And the food… OMG — absolutely to die for. Every bite is fresh, creative, and unforgettable. The atmosphere, service, and overall vibe are truly magical.
My husband is an experienced hotelier who has travelled the world, and we both agree this is our special place — we’d come every day if we could.

The food, the service, the atmosphere were all 5✨️. Sunday brunch, so much to choose from, so many new foods to try! So much love goes into all of it. The plants are beautiful, the pastries were melt in your mouth, the coffee was perfect. Will be a regular Sunday spot from now on!
