This arepa was everything it should be. Golden and crispy on the outside, soft inside, and generously filled with tender shredded meat, fresh lettuce, and a creamy sauce that balanced every bite. Nothing felt heavy or bland. It tasted homemade, comforting, and filling without being overwhelming. The kind of food that doesn’t need hype because it speaks for itself.

This is not a review of the service, but of the food quality and pricing. In my opinion, this place is overpriced for what you get. The beef was so heavily seasoned that it reminded me more of Indian food than what I expected. The avocado, which I paid extra for, was bruised and darkened. The arepa was dry, and the protein inside it was also dry.

They upcharge for everything. For example, if you order an arepa with protein and cheese, those are treated as two separate add-ons; otherwise, you’re left with a dry arepa with protein and no sauce or toppings.

The service was good and the space is clean, so I have no complaints there.

Venezuelan fast food, and American fast food with a Venezuelan spin.
Some of the South American foods tend to be heavy, fried, with lots of meats, starches and mayo-based sauces….and I love it!
For us today’s lunch; Tequenos, Combo de Tostados with shredded chicken, and Tumbarrancho with shredded chicken. Details of the food is in the current menu pictures I posted with this review.
The Tequenos were basically a cheese stick covered in a light bread dough and deep fried (as in mozzarella sticks only a different breading.) It was served with a with a mayo-based dressing that tasted similar to tarted sauce. The Combo de Tostados came as two per the order. Each was shredded chicken, cheese, cabbage and the “house” mayo-based special sauce, piled between two deep fried arepas. The Tumbarrancho had the same filling, but the construction was different. It was a large thick arepas, battered, deep fried then pried open and stuffed with the ingredients.
Everything was wonderful! I loved the food!
In the restaurant they have the menu in both English and Spanish. Check it out! It has quite a variety, with great looking burgers, subs and a breakfast menu. They have different specials. The owner told me about his very special Christmas dinner. “Some of those items may be available on the regular menu later in the year.” I sure hope so….
Order at the counter/pay at the counter. The food is delivered to your table in in fast food type trays. Friendly staff, good service.

I was craving fried plantains, so I came here looking forward to a sandwich as well. The sandwiches were so expensive I asked if they came with a side, to which she replied they did not. I couldn’t justify getting both, so I only got the plantains (with a small bit of cheese) to the tune of $8. They were absolutely delicious, but a small quantity for the exorbitant price. I’m sure the rest of the menu is delicious, but to me it was cost prohibitive for a casual lunch.

Decided on K’Sero’s and ordered most of the menu since it’s Venezuelan food and more than likely tasty. Will have tomorrow for lunch.

Tequenos = melty cheese inside bread

This is the only place I’m eating at for at least 7 months. I’m not kidding.

Every kind of empanada

Heard about this place near 61st and Mingo. VENEZUELAN FOOD. How rare is that in Tulsa?

Today we have Patacones. What is Patacones? Basically it is smashed plantains deep fried until crispy and used to sandwich a pile of meat. You can choose green or yellow and have your choice of beef, chicken or pork.

I got the Amarillo plantains which are sweet . This sweetness works really well with the shredded pork. The crunchy exterior contrasts nicely with the tender pork and lettuce in the Patacones. This is good stuff and unique in Tulsa for sure. Short of booking a flight to Caracas this is the best way to get a taste of Venezuela. The portion was large suitable for a working men’s lunch. The plantains were deep fried so they were a little greasy. They could have been helped by leaving on a paper towel to drain off a little of the grease. Other than that, this item is a must try if you do visit.

My Husband had heard about ‘Ksero’ and he said he wanted Me try it out, considering I like Venezuelan food. I’d been searching for a spot w/TASTY Plantains. I hadn’t had Any GOOD 1s, since B4 Masa’s Kitchen closed their storefront. Ksero’s are good, depending on who cooks them. I’d been going here quite a bit, but had an issue with my debit card being recharged a week later!! I spoke w/the Owner’s wife, who is usually Nice. She called me and said she was cking w/their bank, but NEVER followed up. So I had to Cancel my card with my own bank. Unsure why this happened or why they still had access a week later bcuz that’s never happened before w/them… ‍♀️ They STILL should’ve called back to resolve this situation.
