My wife ordered “Indonesian Fried Rice”, which was basically fried rice with minuscule veggies and chicken….literally just basic fried rice for $16. I ordered the Tom Yum soup (Thai sour soup) for $13.50, some Martabak Telur (3 pieces of ground beef, onion, & fried egg wrapped in a pastry and fried) for $11. Oh, and then I ordered an “Indonesian Coffee”, which I was expecting to be exotic, but was instead “3-in-1 powdered instant coffee” for $4.50! This stuff costs .20 cents in Indonesia, and it tasted horrible. The menu states “Indonesian Luwak coffee mixed with cream and sugar”, but fails to mention it is just pre-mixed powdered coffee.
Anyway, my soup was ok, my wife’s fried rice was simple and a little bland, and the Martabak Telur was ok…..and the bill came to $51! If my wife had ordered the hot Matcha Green Tea Latte for another $4.50 (also probably just a pre-sweetened powdered mix) we would have spent over $60 with a tip.
Really, I support local business and know the owner is just trying to make a living, but what we got for the money we spent, and had to stand in line to order, and then sit in a cold tent to eat it….this isn’t a sit down restaurant, you know. I doubt her rent is the same as a large restaurant…
By comparison, the next night we at at the Mexican place next to the La Quinta, and we had double the amount of food, it was better, we were inside and served, and the bill came out slightly less.
I tried the shrimp fried and that’s absolute best
The quantity is generous and be careful with choosing spice level. They normal spice level is sufficient enough for normal people lol

The best thing about Bumbu is that they bring Indonesian food to the area.
The food is WAY too expensive for the value. The broth is watered down, the noodles are instant-style, and the seating is limited. The price does not justify what you get, especially when you consider that all the utensils are plastic, there are no sauces om the table, there’s only outdoor seating, and the food can be bought for about half the price at Hmart.
Indonesian food is welcomed in the Glenwood Springs area, but not like this. Prices need to be more justifiable. Best of luck and hopefully changes come sooner rather than later.
Most of the food has chicken, but they also have beef, tofu and vegetable options.
The fried rice I had was great!
The meat bowl soup I tried was pretty good as well! The bigger ball has an egg inside.
Overall, not bad.
ABOUT THE FOOD:
Our food was incredible and was a great price! I haven’t had food quite like this before. It had amazing flavor and was very well portioned and the bowls are SUPERB!
Thank you for the amazing experience and we will send everyone your way!
