They have indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside and quickly forgot that it’s right on Indian Canyon Dr. because everything was perfect
The ambiance on the inside could use a little updating by the bar…the black painted and somewhat warped drop ceiling tiles along with the older bar equipment just do not represent nor compare to the amazing culinary experience.
Overall this place is a great find and reasonably priced for the level of food and service. Strongly recommend it!
For your meal, the Chilean sea bass is a no brainer. Cooked to perfection and seasoned well. It’s worth it come to this restaurant for this dish alone. My friend also got the crab cakes and said they were good.
The parking was a little tricky. The lot is pretty small and has a few other restaurants there so if they’re all busy I can’t imagine where everyone would park.
The food, like the room, is old-fashioned without being boring. We love the escargot and short ribs en croute to start, and the salads are fresh and inventive. The pork osso bucco is as awesome as its reputation, and their meat and fish are excellent quality.
Last night we enjoyed the New Year’s Eve prix fixe menu; all around us were people enjoying their cocktails and dinner without having to shout over the music or fight for a waiter’s attention. And I know that if they ever offer the pistachio-crusted lamb or filet mignon Oscar on the regular or specials menu, I’m having it again…
Edit to add that our server, Adrian, recognized our anniversary (which we had noted in OpenTable). The waitstaff recognized this a few times, and threw in a free dessert. This touch really put the experience over the top!
Everyone here is very competent and engaging. Whoever does the hiring is doing a fine job
.
My server this evening was s winner among winners. Her name was IHTZHEEL (pronounced like “It’s eel,” if I got it right).
Although it was a cool night, I’ve sat on the patio because it’s so relaxing and because there Are beautiful torch like heaters That give off just the right amount of supplemental heat.
It’s a bit noisier on the patio so when I asked Ihtzeel to repeat something, I explained that I was hearing impaired , and that was the reason for my request. Ihtzeel responded in the nicest way possible. Without making me feel awkward in the slightest, she simply squatted down to my level, face fear, and spoke clearly and with a smile. She knew she didn’t have to shower, and her warm genuine nature conveyed that she was happy to do that.. Her easy, natural response allowed us to talk about dinner, drinks, and chocolate cake, Andy soft accommodation request was barely on the radar. Pretty ideal. Ihtzeel is a lovely person, and a most capable server.
That was my second visit. Seven or ten days before was my first visit. Again, I was dining alone (next year I’ll have a Valeentine, I just know it), and I had the same Filet Mignon, mashed potatoes, suateed spinach, and chocolate cake. It was just about closing so I was wild, and had a glass of wine. I had an outgoing, friendly and smiling Latin gentleman, who did a great job,, including recommending the chocolate cake to me. I regret that his name escapes me.
TThe dinner was mouth-watering good, and Ididn’t have a care in the world. TTjat is, until I reached into my pocket for my wallet to pay. My pocket was empty; the wallet wasn’t there. It wasn’t full-blown panic, but my mind and heart raced, and I didn’t know what to do. I wasn’t just dining alone, I really didn’t have anyone I could call who would pick up, drop everything, and be there tout suite with rescue money.
The chocolate cake jhad been ordered bit not yet served. In damage control effort, I told the server the pickle I was in. “At least hold onto the cake till I figure this out..Why add cake theft to the charges?
My server was very kind, and reassuring, “We’ll figure this out,” he assured me,” and while I scrolled Contacts for someone who woulld pick up. Ohh, II silently moaned. No one piicks up anymore.
Payment plan still unknown, my chocolate cake arrived anyway: an extra-large serving on an extra -large plate with drizzle on top and below. It was comfort food nouveau, and I have to say it helped. .
Less panicked , best efforts continued. Apple Pay wasn’t working, Google Pay wasn’t working, and not a contact was stirring who might save my night.
Enter the handsome and amazing gentleman named Alex, who Conley joined my special forces. I am not sure if Alex was the owner, the manager, or some other establishment professional. I am sure that he was my guardian angel that night. I’ll skip over the details in the interest of gravity and privacy, but with Alex at the helm, a solution was found, I returned to my earlier state of not a care oin the world, and I knew that I had just discovered my new favorite restaurant. You’ll probably like it, too.
Oh- parking right outside on the street- super easy
