If you’re bored of all the local pizza, hot chicken and ramen options, don’t sleep on Benji’s for solid Mexican. I want to give them a 4.5 but I know they want 5 stars so let’s round up to the nearest penny. We are boring customers; we get our usuals bc they nail it: chicken quesadilla, enchiladas verde (chorizo) and the absolute must churros with the chocolate dipping sauce. Also they give you red and green fresh picanté sauces for your entrees which is a bonus. Food is great. My only ding is that I would have liked a little more rice than what they gave me, but the fresh flavor of the beans along with them just about wiped that concern away. The prices are decent, service is friendly hustling kids and they have occasional discounts and a loyalty/points program, so they know how to operate a business and seem to be doing well. I like all of that in a friendly Mom and Pop place that can give Chipotlé a run for its money. Saludos Senior Benji, keep it up.

Chicken al pastor tacos: I like how light the tortillas are and slightly fried which gives it a slight crunch. The “avocado” sauce though it just green tomatoes and you can tell because of the seeds and the distinct taste

Benji’s a local authentic taqueria dishing out generously filled tacos.
Visited Benji’s on the recommendation from a friend who moved to the area from California.
We ordered the Guac and chips which we found to be incredibly fresh and superbly seasoned.
The Birria tacos come in a set of three. Packed to the gills with very tender shreds of possibly slow cooked brisket that packed immense flavor.
The consume was very flavorful as well. But, found it to be saltier and greasier than I would have preferred. Every now and then it’s great to line your insides with greasy lubricants, no difference compared to a car.
Prepare to take some antacids. Worth it for the flavor!

The food is good but my last experience, service was horrible . I order to go and they said 15-20m . Fine no problem, my daughter and I sat and waited for our food . After 30m of waiting I went up to check if my food was ready and she points to a bag on table that has been sitting there for over 15m! They clearly saw us waiting , so no one was going to tell us food was ready . So disappointed and my food was cold .

Normally very solid, until their burritos have started looking like my photo. Undoubtedly the worst rolled burrito I’ve had, impossible to pick up and eat, it’s clear whoever made it didn’t even try. If I wanted to eat this with a fork and knife I would’ve ordered a bowl. For $15 I’d expect better.

This location has changed a lot this summer, from names to ownership to decor, but one thing stays certain: the food is fantastic. Benji’s has done a lovely job redecorating the space; the colors and decor are lively and bright, and the space is clean, welcoming more to dine in instead of take out. The food is delicious, and the menu has a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes.
When the waiter asks if you want to start with chips and guac – say yes. The chips are warm, perfectly salted and crispy, and the guacamole is delightful. They’ll bring out an avocado mixture (not spicy at all) and a decently hot salsa, so make sure to specify if you want spicier salsa; they do have it, but they don’t bring it out at first. Tacos were delicious and filling; I got al pastor and carnitas, both wonderful. My guest got the chorizo torta, which he loved. We didn’t have room for dessert, but I’ll be looking forward to getting the flan and churros next time.
If you’ve been to this location in the past for Mexican food, make sure to come to Benji’s – they did a phenomenal job and you will not be disappointed. Staff is as friendly as ever, too. And if you haven’t been before, definitely give it a go! This is not a place to miss.

Ordered the 30 taco catering tray and it was the perfect thing for a last minute birthday celebration. For $60 I received 30 tacos and all the additions (green and red salsa, chopped onions, cilantro, limes, cucumbers and radishes). I also love their steak burrito when I’m ordering a regular meal for myself. Everything is always ready on time too!
