The video they give you was decent. The service was lacking. The food was ok I could have made better. It took forever to get any service. The food definitely was not worth the price and there was a credit card fee. Definitely won’t be coming back.

Pancakes are delicious! They welcome you with a sopota de fideo and their salad bar always clean and filled. The tripas doradas are freaking amazing but shareable.

Best Breakfast & Atmosphere in Town!

I saw someone post about having dinner here on Facebook, looked it up, and was excited to see they offer breakfast—especially since not many places are open on Sundays. We arrived at 9:00 AM and were greeted and seated right away in a cozy booth across from the bar. It was the perfect spot to take in the beautiful, colorful atmosphere of the entire dining room.

This may sound strange, but the temperature in the restaurant was just right! I’m usually freezing in restaurants, but I was completely comfortable here—which made a big difference in the experience.

There are big screens playing a great mix of Latino and American music videos, and the sound is nicely balanced throughout the space. It creates a fun and vibrant vibe, but you can still easily have a conversation at your table without yelling. So refreshing!

We started with coffee, which was smooth with no bitterness. The breakfast menu is HUGE, and I was honestly overwhelmed—in a good way. I ended up going with the classic American Breakfast: eggs, fluffy pancakes with real butter, crispy bacon (so good), a slice of ham, and hash browns. It was a ton of food—delicious and satisfying. My husband helped finish off my hash browns and ham, and I still had pancakes left over.

The service was a little slow, but I didn’t mind one bit. The atmosphere is so relaxing and comfortable that I enjoyed just sipping my coffee and soaking it all in. Honestly, compared to places like IHOP—which feel noisy and bland—this restaurant is warm, inviting, and a true pleasure to dine in.

I can’t wait to come back and try lunch or dinner next time (especially the salsa bar!). Yes, it’s a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and portion sizes make it worth every penny. Breakfast hours are Monday–Saturday from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The birria tacos are my favorite every time! The micheladas and sopa are chef’s kiss. We eat here every time we are done with a group meeting at Vibe City! 10/10 recommend 🙂

We arrived for dinner on a Monday. The restaurant was not busy. We were greeted & seated promptly. The server was very friendly. He brought us some sopa de fideo as an appetizer. It tatsted, exactly how my mom makes it– so yummy! We ordered green chicken enchiladas w/eggs on top plate & a Discada plate for two. Both dishes were DELICIOUS! The Discada was served w/blue corn tortillas, grilled serranos & grilled onions. Their salsa bar was the perfect touch to enhance the flavor of our tacos. We also ordered a Michelada. I don’t like beer, and I NEVER order it…buuuut this Michelada was FANTASTIC! They blend their own mix, and I sure would return to order it again. We all left with happy and full tummies. I can’t wait to return and try more of their food.

My husband and I went on a Sunday it was busy but the wait time wasn’t too bad and the server was attentive and started us off with a sopa de fideo (soupy noodle soup) . The food was over all good! Pictured is the ranchero omelette, elote pancakes and flautas ahogadas rojas.
They do have a salsa bar available 🙂

Hijos del Maíz is hands down my new favorite spot! The flavors are authentic, and you can tell everything is made fresh. The tacos al pastor are incredible, and their homemade corn tortillas make all the difference. I also tried their breakfast burrito—absolutely delicious! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and amazing food. Highly recommend!

Great atmospheric vibes. but the food doesn’t match the atmosphere. Decent service food looks good until you taste it. ordered red and bean chilaquiles(they don’t know how to make the bean ones) both were served cold. ordered menudo and it was almost as good as the canned juanita one at the store for 20$ (rip off) over all probably won’t recommend mules you like cold food or prefer quantity over quality. Good does not justify the prices tbh. worth a try tho.
