After waiting another 30 minutes inside the restaurant, I approached the counter again to ask about my order. The same employee responded rudely, saying that it takes an hour to cook 24 wings and that it would be “five more minutes.” Her tone was aggressive and unprofessional.
Approximately 10 minutes later, she handed me my order. Another employee came from the back, noticed I had been waiting a long time, and confirmed that my order was ready. The first employee mentioned she had added a cheesecake “for the wait,” but as I left, I could hear both front employees laughing, which made the situation even more disrespectful.
When I got home, I discovered that the wings were half-cooked, which is unacceptable and unsafe to eat.
Issues Encountered:
Poor customer service and unprofessional behavior from staff
Excessive wait time (over 1 hour and 30 minutes total)
Undercooked food (wings not fully cooked)
Lack of communication and accountability
Ordered online and it took about 30 minutes from ordering to it being ready. The place was packed with people picking up food when I got there.
The pizza, wings, wedges, and the chicken salad were good. The meatball sub was weird. Still edible but do not recommend.
They have a bunch of tables and chairs inside that are all piled up against a wall with signs out saying you can’t eat in due to lack of staffing.
Our pizza was done and our name was called, my husband got up right away to retrieve our food, and the girl barked at him that he didn’t shout back that he was getting up when she announced our pizza was done. We then go sit back down and eat (again we totally missed the no dine in sign) and my husband gets back up and ask for plates. Both staff members were ignoring us, and when he asked again the girl snapped and said “I’ll help you when I get to you” mind you she wasn’t doing anything else. The other girl turns around and explained to him there’s no dine in service, my husband apologized and said we will go if you want and she rudely replied “yeah you can leave”
As we were leaving to get in the car, both girls were pointing at us and you can clearly see they were talking about us.
Needless to say they were beyond in-polite miserable rude people and we will not be going back, we can see why little Cesar’s is running the place out of business – again the miserable girl at the counter words – not ours. Mind you, we are from New Jersey, the land of the rude, and something we’re use too. So it’s pretty darn bad that they were that rude to the point it actually bothered us.
The sub was great, but I admit that I made a mistake in not paying closer attention to the menu. I prefer natural cheese, and I should have opted for Provolone cheese instead of the standard American cheese. The young man working confirmed that substitutions are not a problem, so there’s always next time. I will return. The entire staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was clean.
Overall, I would highly recommend Tony’s Famous Pizza to anyone looking for delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere. Just be sure to double-check your order for any customization options you may prefer!
