Visited here while we had family vacation at Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. We enjoyed ice cream outside the bar restaurant. We also bought fried seafood takeout for our lunch. The food was deliciously prepared. The ice cream seemed to be a bit too sweet… Service was good. A nice choice for your travel rest stop.

Save your time and money and go elsewhere. $42 for fried scallops and whole belly clams served on a togo container? Not worth it. The portions are so small and there is no taste. 5 small fried scallops and a whole bunch of fries underneath. The coleslaw also had no taste. Fries tasted like old grease.
Also, the lady at the counter taking our order wasn’t trained properly.. she had no idea what was on the menu and how to work the POS. I don’t even know if there was a manager on duty. There’s definitely a reason why this place is dead.
I understand it’s counter service but customer service is non existent here. It was just my boyfriend and I in the dining room and not one staff checked up on us and instead just stood there doing nothing as there was no other customers in line.
My boyfriends family use to come here for years for the coffee / mocha frappes and they removed that from the menu. Honestly sad to see how bad this place has become after the new management took over. Listen to the other reviews when they all say this place has gone downhill.

A perfect spot for icecream in the weirs beach area. So many flavors and toppings and variety of frozen treats. We wanted to try strawberry Sunday with almonds and coconut but they were out of these toppings and had to get pineapple which was just okay. Also the icecream was spilling over and difficult to handle in the small cup. Variety and quantity was there with perfect location on the beach but tastes just like any other ice cream nothing outstanding.

42$ for the worst food I think I’ve ever had. I’ve been coming to sawyers for 10 years. I took my girlfriend here for our 3 year anniversary as I told her it’s one of the best places to eat in the area. Sadly under the new management Sawyers of the past is gone. Clams had no taste. Fries were cooked in old grease. You also only get maybe 5 scallops in a 42$ meal. I 100% advise you not to waste your time or money here. Staff was terrible. The lady working did not know how to work the POS. The energy in the kitchen is extremely off / dead. No manager anywhere to be found. I see the owners other restaurant they own “the lunchbox” has 2 star reviews. Surpise.

Great ice cream, ample outside seating capacity, quick service, generous portions. We stopped by just for ice cream and everyone was satisfied. Cannot comment on food. Ample parking capacity as well. During covid outside seating only. Did not have maple walnut ice cream but learned only after the order was placed/paid for. No biggie.

Live in Gilford and been going here for years, especially for ice cream. I remember it being good with good portions. We loved Sawyer’s. Not so any longer I guess! We try to support our local businesses but c’mon. We went in tonight for the clam strip and shrimp combo to go. Got home to 4 shrimp, maybe 10 clam strips and mostly French fries for $22. I get times are supposedly tough but that’s just a rip off. (Edit: maybe less than 10 some were just empty breading).

Wish I had read the reviews before spending $71 here on horrible food. The fried clams were overcooked and had a weird pepper taste. They were hard to chew and the worst I’ve ever had. Will never go back — even for ice cream. Don’t waste your money here!
