We just had our son’s graduation party here !! Kayla and Chris were the bartenders and were amazing with the guests and kept everyone hydrated with some great conversation and jokes !! Everyone raved about the food (food truck guys rocked) and everything went seemlessly !!! So happy we chose this venue and would highly recommend for any party. We had about 80 people and for all the kids that came the open field (wiffle ball game was a hit) and the fire pit section was great too.

I had the Braised Short Rib, and it was excellent. A couple of weeks ago I ordered it and it was also excellent, so we went back so I could have it again. Both times it was very tasty, moist and quite tender. The whipped potato was also really good. The place is very relaxed and the service was very good with a smile. I plan to go back again soon so I can enjoy the Braised Short Rib, the relaxed atmosphere and friendly service again.

Smuttynose is the perfect place to catch up with friends over beers and bar food. The location is a short drive away from the downtown hustle and bustle. During the warmer months, we love the outside seating and live music. Our most recent visit was inside but very cozy and surprisingly quiet.

The beer menu is large and constantly changing. The restaurant also has an extensive cocktail list for non-beer drinkers. The Golden Hour was delicious and brought the heat. As for the food, it is sometimes hit or miss. During this visit, I enjoyed their everything bagel seasoned pretzel bites with beer cheese. In the past, we have enjoyed their salad selection. The taco entree I ordered was okay. The pork was tender and cooked perfectly whereas, the chicken taco was dry. Overall I would stick with their appetizer and drink selection.

So sad what the management has done to this place. What was once a gem of a restaurant (HOW could you discontinue the best chicken tenders in the region and the Finest Kind dipping sauce) and beer destination on the Seacoast is a now another no-identity menu with tasteless food and flat forgetful beer.
Drink: Our beer and seltzer flight tasted like every tap had gone off and syrups had expired. No carbonation and disgusting frat beer in a cup. I remember old Smuttynose as fun sours and flavorful IPAs 🙁
Food: can’t recommend anything.
Cuban sandwich was the worst we’ve ever had.
Short rib bolognese tasted like nursing home slop in desperate need of salt and seasoning.
Brussel sprouts were tossed in watered down syrup.
Kids mac and cheese “meal” came with nothing else despite the menu saying it came with side, drink, and ice cream.
Despite the place being dead on a Saturday night, the service was terrible.
Really hope more investment goes into better ingredients, flavor profiles and culinary staff. I miss the old Smuttynose!

What an incredible place! The outdoor patio is fantastic, the food is great, and the live music absolutely amazing! Perfect for a relaxed evening with friends or family, especially great if you have kids or dogs, there’s something for everyone here. I love that there are lawn games and a beautiful forest setting. Such great vibes, I’ll be here every warm weekend!

This place used to be such a gem in Hampton. They had the best chicken tenders and dipping sauces I’d ever had. Amazingly friendly staff, great beer, super happening events. Ever since this place sold it’s gone downhill in every way. Flat beers, dry food, disinterested staff.

And now I hear that the Hot Sauce Festival is moving from smuttynose to Strawberry Banke (not dog friendly)? This is the kind of stuff that gives PE firms such a bad wrap, especially in the food and beverage industry. They come in to “create value” and within a year the result is the same: higher prices, gutted product mix, and destruction of any sense of community. Sad story.

First time visiting Smuttynose restaurant and it did not disappoint. The beer of course is great and the food was great as well. I got Chris’ Kicken Chicken which was really great! Service was a little slow, though we sat inside the bar area and our server was also a bartender.

We love Smuttynose. Every time we visit the Hampton area we make sure to stop by for delicious wings, burgers, and cold beer. Today we were served by Monique, she was so friendly and helpful. Awesome service! They have a great beer selection from the brewery. I love all the IPA options.
