’ve been to this restaurant many times, and the food has always been great, which is why this visit was so disappointing. From the moment we walked in, it was clear the bartender didn’t want us there. Instead of a friendly greeting, we got an attitude that made us feel like we were inconveniencing her just by showing up.
This was the first time I’ve ever felt uncomfortable here. It was almost as if not being a “regular” meant we didn’t deserve the same level of service. She had no time for us, was short in her responses, and came off as downright rude.
What made it even worse is that I had brought friends who had never been before. Unfortunately, this experience left such a bad impression that they said they won’t be coming back — all because of how they were treated.
I hope this was just an off day, because the food really is great — but the service on this visit was hard to overlook. A little courtesy goes a long way, and I truly hope things improve moving forward.

It was by chance that we walked in here. I thought it was a coffee place and we were greeted by this charming bar and a clean establishment. I was surprised! It was a small sports bar instead.

The staff were helpful, quick, and polite. The food was Amazing. I loved their queso. Reminded me of my friends homemade. My husband had the shrimp and mushroom enchiladas and I had never seen him so excited by food. He loved it! I tried the grilled orange chicken. Dont let it through you off when you get it, the chicken was amazing! Rice was good too.

If you’re in the area, it’s a definite try.

Stopped in and had lunch on a Thursday afternoon about 1pm. It was seat yourself. They were not busy. Waited about 15 minutes to get a menu and put in a drink order. Took about 20 minutes to get my sandwich and fries. Servers were completely ignoring customers and were on personal phones behind the bar talking for over half my visit. Other than 1 refill (from someone other than my server) , I did not see a server between ordering and receiving the check. Took over an hour total.
On another note, the food was really good. I had the smoked turkey sandwich and fries. Fries were a over cooked for my taste but others may like them that way. Homemade honey mustard was super yummy! And the bun was soft and sweet. So good!
They had plenty of tv’s for sporting events and a decent drink menu. I would try again at a different time but sometimes no matter how good the food is, bad service will lose you customers..

The dog-friendly, covered patio was cool. The server treated our dog well. We had pizza and were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Service in general was good. It was a Sunday evening and they had some poker tables going, which were filled with mostly women. We’d love to go back.

I recently moved into the apartments at Fairview Town Center. I’ve been trying to get out and visit the shops and restaurants. It’s so nice to be able to walk everywhere This was the first time I had ever been to Cafe Gecko. I really chose this place because it has a huge outdoor dining area that’s dog friendly. I always have so much to do/errands to run on the weekends and I feel so guilty leaving our dog home alone. It’s great to find a place where I can take him with me. My server was Gabrielle and the first thing she asked me was if she could get my dog a bowl of water. I ordered a beer and after she walked away another woman (the Manager?) also approached my table and asked me about getting my dog water. So, they were very attentive and welcoming to me and my dog. I was torn between getting a burger or the tacos. On the suggestion of my server I ordered the Steak soft tacos. I opted for the spicy ones. My food arrived promptly and hot. I loved the tacos, the steak was tender and had good flavor. It was spicy but not overwhelming so, just right. I think they would be better topped off with a little avocado or cheese. But, they were good. I liked the borracho beans and the pico de gallo. I wasn’t a fan of the rice but, I’m just not a fan of that kind of rice anyway. I usually ask for extra beans if some other kind of rice is not available but I forgot. The weather was perfect for sitting on the patio, the prices were reasonable, the service and the food was good. I will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our time here. My guest had the queso and chips, the queso was very tasty, with layers of spices adding notes at different times. I had their cheese steak sandwich sans the peppers. Very yummy, a tasty provolone, chopped steak and soft baguette. They included plenty of sautéed onions. The waffle fries were super crispy and came out warm, they made great dippers for the queso. I ended with their key lime pie, which was just right. We enjoyed our time trying out a new place.

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME! Ordered the grilled orange chicken with vegetables. It was terrible. The chicken tasted like under boiled chicken with grill marks. The sauce was NOT orange it was watered down honey mustard. The corn was cold straight out of a can. I rather eat at my kid’s school cafeteria. Waitress was rude when we let her know the food was terrible. We were nice about it, so there was no need for that. We were so excited about this place, so this was a huge disappointment!!!

We had a good experience at Cafe Gecko. We ordered the chicken Caesar salad and the shrimp quesadilla. Both entrees were tasty. Our service was good as well. The outside patio was perfect for the nice day we had.

We went to Cafe Gecko following Critter Club and it was worth the wait. We even got dessert! The food was soooo delish! We sat on the patio. Our service was not the fastest…that’s why they gave us free Key Line pie!
One of the best things I love about being in Fairview is no one is on their cell phones! Everyone is friendly and engaging to one another. Can’t wait to go back!
