I was in town for a few days and I wanted some good Caribbean food. Saw this restaurant had hundreds of good reviews so I ordered delivery but end up extremely disappointed. The jerk chicken I received was completely undercooked, actually raw in the middle.
Because it was delivery, it was even more frustrating to discover once it arrived. For the price and the reputation, I expected much better.
I hope they improve their cooking standards but even so, I won’t be ordering again.

I ordered Garifuna catering for a work event and it was FANTASTIC! Everything was absolutely delicious and everyone enjoyed the food and 3 days later still talking about it. I ordered the jerk wings, beef patties, vegetable patties and the sorrel-ginger beverage. The whole experience went smoothly and was professional from placing the order to delivery. I will definitely use them again, and highly recommend!! Thank you, Garifuna!

So for starters they really should tell you that the king fish with the veggies is SWEET & SOUR (Chinese food style), it is EXTREMELY SWEET and the king fish was SUPER TOUGH and almost inedible. Sweet potatoes were missing a few ingredients (butter & nutmeg), Mac and cheese wasn’t good at all or well put together, Cabbage was cooked to perfection texture wise but had ABSOLUTELY NO SEASONING OR TASTE…not even salt or pepper, NOTHING! THE ONLY thing that was decent was the jerk chicken…that’s the only thing you see is chicken bones. Stewed Chicken was tender but needed seasoning. The cake was store bought…I was expecting it to be homemade. I’m wondering how this place got a 4.6 seriously and I’m all for supporting small businesses, Caribbean food, and black people period but this food WAS NOT IT AT ALL!

I’ve always heard about this establishment but never visited until yesterday even though I had been looking for a great Caribbean spot. I have been so disappointed by other Caribbean restaurants that I just figured all jerk spots in Chicago were pretty much trash nowadays until I walked into this hidden gem. I ordered a half white with rice and peas and stewed chicken with macaroni and cheese. The stewed chicken was tasty, but the jerk chicken was OUTSTANDING and definitely had that flavor that I had been searching for. I wasn’t a fan of the rice and peas, the macaroni and cheese was different but tasty, and something I would try again. Thank you Garifuna for bringing Quality, Authentic, Caribbean flavor to the Southside of Chicago. I will definitely be returning.

Hey I was sooooo excited that you guys were back open.Especially as I haven’t had your food in years.. and all my favorite influencers were hyping the comeback up. I got the Panadas.. which were insane! But my best of both worlds dinner was disappointing..The flavor was there but my food was old, Rice old and mushy, jerk chicken old, and stewed chicken old and dry..Stewed chicken CANT BE DRY! My delivery came fast so I don’t think it sat I spent 60 bucks because I was that excited.. I’m glad at least the panadas were fresh.. not sure I’ll try again even though I can see slightly what folks talking about but to serve old food was a bit much for me after spending 60 bucks

Best grill chicken in town, a special recipe from Belize “Jerk Chicken” has an amazing blend of spices. The sides compliment the chicken. Even though the restaurant is not fancy but the quality of food and taste makes you forget where you are.
They have a take out option and you can easily warm it up for the same taste as its served fresh at the restaurant
