What a great eating experience! Met Suzy herself in a small, welcoming eatery. Fabulous food, can’t say enough about the handmade chips and green salsa as well as the freshly made tortillas. She has a nice patio area for outdoor eating.

I had taquitos asada and hubby had the chili relleno special. I ate most of his delicious side of beans.

If you are in the area I would recommend a stop here even if you just want a cold drink and chips. Ah, those fabulous chips!

I rarely write reviews for restaurants but I gotta write one for this lovely cozy family owned restaurant. We tried several Mexican restaurants in LA and San Diego but found out this one to be the best when we just stopped to fill the gas. Even the Nachos taste better than anywhere else’s. Strongly recommend it. And the staff are really friendly. This place just made my day!!

We had the pleasure of visiting Susy’s Kitchen during our road trip down south.

The place itself was small and quiet, which was great for what we were looking for. The chips and salsa were amazing, and clearly homemade.

The tacos were solid as well, as was the burrito.

No complaints, overall solid spot!

Good family run small restaurant with seating inside and outside. The food is delicious, chili verde was delish.
Recommendations, could use a little more quantity and play some low volume Mexican music.
Can recommend this for a good low key restaurant with kind people running it.

Susy has a superpower, and it’s bringing joy to weary travelers through the power of food. From the moment you walk into the door, you are embraced by her hospitality.

The meal began with house made tortilla chips and salsas. The salsas tasted shockingly fresh and added a pleasant level of acidity to the crispy tortilla chips.

The birria plate was both authentic and a striking representation of modern Mexican classics. It was tender and succulent and the sauce complemented the braised beef perfectly; overall an excellent homage to the original humble goat dish from western Mexico. House made tortillas were paired with the dish along with stewed beans and seasoned rice. Garnishes included refreshingly herbal cilantro and diced onions that complemented the earthiness of the dish well.

The remainder of the party ordered burritos which were gently toasted and contained only the freshest of ingredients.

Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It’s a refreshing change to the see of corporate chains usually populating highway exit ramps serving bland and uninspiring food.

I honestly wish I could rate it higher. They were honestly the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. We also got a chicken burrito and taquitos. They were also something I’ll dream about. The gal who served us (maybe the owner?) was so nice and took such great care of us. She went above and beyond! I’m from out of town, but would absolutely make a trip out here, just for this place.

I got the sope plate, it was delicious. The sope base itself was freshly made and the meat was well seasoned. We got a California burrito and it was also delicious. It had a good ratio of fries to meat and it also had rice and beans in it. Would definitely eat here again!

I recently dined at Suzys, and the experience was absolutely phenomenal. The tamales and pozole were the highlight of the meal—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Every bite felt like a celebration of authentic cooking. The quality and taste were truly exceptional, and I honestly believe this restaurant deserves a Michelin star for its dedication to excellence.

I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable culinary experience!Pozole and Tamales were phenomenal! Highly recommend this place! I will suggest this place to Michelin star thats how much I enjoyed it! I was there for work from LA and I wish this place existed in LA!

What a great little place. Beautiful inside with just a couple tables and more outside on the patio. Susy is so sweet and all the food was delicious. Definitely coming back when I come through town. If you are anywhere in the area go there and I’m sure it will become a favorite.
