I went into this truly hoping for the best. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed. I know they are under new ownership, but it is very difficult not to make comparisons to the previous owner’s menu. My dining companion and I were instantly greeted and seated. The restaurant looks lovely and there is some very nice art on the walls. It was a very hot, humid day so I think the air conditioner was having a hard time keeping up, as it was quite warm inside. We both got the fresh squeezed lemonade, which in my view was the highlight of the meal. I have wonderful memories of the chicken salad croissant, so I ordered that, which came with French fries. The sandwich was very basic. It did have lettuce but no nuts, grapes, celery. Just chicken and mayonnaise. It definitely suffered from a lack of crunch. The fries looked great, but were inconsistently cooked. They also suffered from a lack of crunch. The Cajun salmon was very attractively presented. The salmon was well cooked, as was the pasta. It was …..fine. Everything we had, not counting the beverage, was just fine. Not terrible. Not great. Fine. I may go back, as it could definitely have been my choice of meal, and nothing was bad. The prices also were very reasonable.

Such a cute place to have a delicious meal! I loved it all. Food was great and cooked perfectly. Minimal salad ingredients, but everything was very fresh. And it’s hard to complain when the special includes fresh baked rolls, soup, salad and entree for $20!

This is a fine dining establishment, without the extravagant pricing. Yes, it is perfect for a special occasion, but the pricing allows for much more frequent visits for gastronomic delights.
We were especially pleased with the wine selection and modest pricing. There is a selection from a variety of wine appellations.
Many have commented on the dining quality, so I won’t add to that aspect. I want to deal with the chef’s expertise. My wife requested pasta with her chicken, capers, lemon, and mushroom dish. The chef consented to give her pasta instead of the normal sides. What a delight! The chef cooked the pasta to a perfect al dente consistency, and then, properly, finalized the meal by finishing the pasta in the dish’s sauce. What a beautiful and flavorful presentation done extemporaneously.
The wait staff appears to be properly trained. Water was filled without request or intrusion. The entire meal was well coordinated by the wait staff. You’ll find no issues in this aspect of your dining experience.

Heritage House offers combination of excellent food, service and an extremely comfortable atmosphere. I always enjoy my meals there. The fried olives with blistering tomatoes and goat cheese were absolutely delicious!!

It was our first time at the Heritage House. Dinner started out with some of the best mushroom soup I ever had.
When it came to our main course that’s when things got really disappointing. We tried their special witch was a seafood newburg over linguine, it was very salty and the seafood was over cooked. They offered me my choice of something else, I chose spaghetti and .meatballs. Meatballs were very dry and tasted like frozen meat, the sauce was like straight from a Chef Boy I D can. Not worth the money.

This is my favorite spot to meet friends for lunch! You get a 3 course meal for less than $15. You start with a choice of 2 freshly made soups, then a small side salad with a choice of housemade dressings, and then you get to choose from several different main dishes. There is always a plate of freshly baked bread to accompany the meal. The desserts are incredible and this is my absolute favorite spot for a strawberry margarita. You will not find fake strawberry flavor or sour mix here. They use real fruit puree and fresh lime! Sometimes the pace is slow, so be prepared to sit back, relax and enjoy each bite. It is worth it!

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in recent memory. We made early reservations because we were attending a show at the Skowhegan opera house later that evening. We made it a point to let our waitress know when we were seated. We were actually the first table seated that evening. We waited an hour for bread to arrive to our table, although we were served our drinks fairly quickly and the house red was a decent glass of wine. When the bread arrived, it was warm and the butter softened. However, we then waited through two baskets of bread for the single appetizer our table ordered. Our salads finally arrived and the homemade Bleu cheese dressing was really good. And then we continued to wait. Our dinner finally arrived 80 minutes after we had been seated. While the specials list was long and impressive, both my husband and I received the wrong meals. He got a basic baked haddock fish despite ordering the Cajun haddock special. I received scallops with rice pilaf that I didn’t order and a baked potato on the which I did order. I didn’t get the scallop special with plum sauce I had ordered. Both meals were good, what you would get at any decent Maine locale, but not what we had ordered and by that point we would have been late to the show had we sent them back. We didn’t have time to even hear the desert menu, and to add insult to injury, the waitress never gave us our leftovers which we had asked to be boxed. The restaurant debit was okay, the table a bit small for a party of four… But I have to say that our water glasses were continually filled which was probably the best part of the experience. Our dining companions said they hadn’t eaten at Heritage House in about 13 years and as we left, they commented they finally wouldn’t return for another 13 years. I didn’t take any photos of our meals. They were typical plating for seafood dishes. Also be prepared to spend $100 or more for two including appetizers and drinks.

The food was absolutely disgusting. Tasted awful. We got the jalapeños which had some gross and super sweet sauce mixed in with the cheese. The Alfredo was dry, no sauce at all. The taste was genuinely the worse food I have attempted to consume. The rolls were cold and stale. The salads had no dressing after asking for dressing and the lettuce tasted dirty. Not to mention it was 90$.
