Hands down one of the best barbecued food I have tasted. The flavor is espectacular. The ribs, the pulled pork, the brisket, the chicken… everything was amazing. Their sides were great, too, especially the Mac and Cheese.
Their drinks were pretty good, too, even though they were a little small.
Their prices are “downtown” prices, if you know what I mean.
I would go back for sure!

I admit I was a little skeptical of this place initially as I didn’t think Providence has a barbecue scene. But this place challenged my assumptions!

The right way to enjoy this place is to go for havles: ½ pound brisket, ½ pound pork and ½ rack of ribs. You’ll thank me later. The brisket is undeniably tender, the pork juicy and the ribs flavorful. I’m hesitant but I dare say, this is the most exciting barbecue in New England right now.

Everything was dry….
I love the atmosphere, the server was friendly, and the flavors were decent, but somehow everything was just dry. We ordered a brisket, ribs, pulled pork sandwich, and the meatloaf sandwich. The brisket was most expensive and disappointing, it was very dry even though it had a good amount of fat to meat ratio, the texture was unfortunately like that of drained canned tuna. The ribs were passable but still dry, the flavors were good however. Pulled pork sandwich was also on the dry side even with the sauce. The stand out ended up being the meatloaf sandwich, it was flavourful and was the only one that was not dry. Was really hoping to like it since it came highly recommended by a friend, but unfortunately our experience was not as expected.

My friends and I had tickets to go see a show at Trinity Rep for 6pm on Father’s Day. We had reservations for 4 pm at Durks. The restaurant was pretty busy even at 4 on a Sunday. I sat at the bar waiting for my friend. The bartender was nice, but clearly going on break, shift change or something. I asked about a cider from NY. Out she said. I asked for Gansett. Out she said. I ordered a cream soda instead. It was very smooth and the vanilla note was strong. The bartender left me and one of my friend. We tried to pay, but the guy at the bar now just said he would switch it to our table.

Our party was seated. We were able to chat. There were two tvs playing sports (30 30 and one with a game review on). Lots of water is available. We had a glass pitcher available. The silverware is in a metal container. I ordered 1/4 brisket for $12 which came with homemade pickles and a potato roll, I added a side of Mac and cheese for $4. Everything was very nice. Their house BBQ sauce was nice and mild. The pickles also had pickled onions served with them. (A). The brisket had a great smokey flavor.

My friend had a Dr. Pepper. The entree was pulled pork with an added side of French fries (Their rating was a B+).

This was definitely a nice BBQ joint.

Loved this place. Plan to go back for lunch (before we leave Providence) so that we can try the things we missed tonight. The smoked tomato sliders (missing one in pic) and brussel sprouts were amazing as were the cornbread, pulled pork and brisket. The portions were perfect and the flavours, spot on. We’ve seen other not-so-complimentary reviews but none applied to the meal we had this evening.

Went to this location couple of weeks ago and based on the reviews I was expecting a lot more. Let’s start with the good points. The service was excellent, very fast and eager to help out. On the day we visited there was a promotion to get the appetizers half price. Also there was a great variety of beers.

We got a half tray of nachos, one corn dog, ribs and mac and cheese. The nachos were very tasty and worth to try. While the corn dog and the mac and cheese were also very tasty, you could taste that this was a pre-made meal you buy from the market and you heat up. But the biggest disappointment was the ribs. I was not expecting ribs like the ones in Texas, but this was even hard to chew. Just look at the picture I took and you can understand that this was either overcooked or cooked days in advance.

On top of that, the toilets were very sticky ( like you are on a club or something ) and the place was not busy so I am sure someone could easily clean them in no time.

Honestly not a great experience.

Slept like a baby after eating the pulled pork sandwich, mac n cheese, n cornbread. Reasonably priced and tasted great. I even got banana pudding to go!

The brisket was exceptional—tender, smoky, and if you add the BBQ sauce they make, it has has tons of flavor! The cornbread was the best cornbread we have had and even took a whole with us to go. Their white BBQ sauce was a standout, it’s what intrigued us to trying their food, it offers a unique twist that paired wonderfully with the wings. We couldn’t get enough of the brisket; it’s definitely the star of the menu. Highly recommend this spot for any BBQ lover!

In my never ending quest for BBQ, it was Durk’s for tonight. Voted “Best in RI” was definitely an incentive to go and try it out. Not sure who voted Durks as best, but hey, anyone can have a bad night.
Walked in to the middle of Saturday night service and saw max 10-12 people sitting…. Should have seen that as a warning ⛔️
FYI, all wine selections come in cans…micro beer choices are okay at best. Also, this place has a heavy selection of whiskeys, but what if you just want a cold Narragansett with a meal?
Ordered a sangria….got what tasted like a sweet whiskey punch
Wanted to try a little bit of everything since it was my first time there….
The food was somewhat disappointing at best …..
Wings were overcooked/ charred/ no flavor.
Brisket Chili was probably the best thing ordered
Meatloaf Sandwich tasted just like a burger
The Pork Ribs had a great smoke ring and although cooked perfectly, lacked any flavor.
The Beans and Mac n Cheese also were both plain and had little to no flavor.
I guess I just expected more…..
Very little value for the cost.
Kept thinking of where else to go tonight and leaving as quickly as possible.

Not recommended for several reasons.
Plenty of other great places to eat BBQ in Providence…..those 10 patrons on a Saturday night spoke volumes to me without uttering a single word.

This was our first time eating here. The atmosphere is that of a wear house. The bar was impressive stocked to the hilt. Our service was swift and pleasant. The food was very good. My wife could not finish her portion. I helped her! Finding parking was an issue as is anyplace in Providence. We would certainly go again when in the mood for BBQ.
