Excellent food and service in a big open air room .
Food was spectacular.
I order the fried chicken sandwich.
The walleye sandwich looked fabulous too.
Great stop in Downtown Mpls

I come here a lot for drinks during conventions and usually have at least one meal over the weekend. Food has always been great and never disappointed in that regard. My group and I usually have at least one visit during those times where wait staff is a little rude and it does bring down the mood.

This is a very intimate spot if you want to take someone for dinner, without being a guest of the hotel. The food portions are just right, and everything is flavorful. The atmosphere has a blend of modern and classic that feels comfortable. The staff goes above and beyond to make people at home, and they know the menu well, and help make great food suggestions. Most people aren’t into soups, but I highly recommend their chicken and wild rice soup. It is sublime. Great pic, come and grab a bite.

The Walleye? Wowee. My first time catching this freshwater fish in my array of eating experiences. A distinctly different taste for sure. (The vegan soup did the trick too. Next time I’m going for the peach salad!) Yes, I was in business tourist mode at a tradeshow. My expectations? This is a random hotel restaurant. I had none. I opted for the bar and got friendly fare from the staff and fellow patrons from near and far. If you’re in downtown Minneapolis at the Hyatt, don’t just consider Prairie. Definitely stop by it!

We were here for a convention and thought we’ll give this a try as it was convenient. I ordered the PRK burger but subbed for the beyond burger, but I was disappointed that it was an upcharge of $4 for something probably less expensive than 2 beef patties. It was ok for a vegetarian option. The chips were good. I was just a bit shocked that a burger, chips, and one alcoholic drink, plus the charged gratuity, was over $40 for one person.

The server was ok, but the service was slow. One person asked for the sauce to be on the side and not on the entree and forgot that detail. Thankfully, he did comp her meal. It took quite a bit of time for the food and the checks. The server even charged the wrong cards in two of the books even when they were all separated. We could have used more water refills.

It happened to be convenient, and we had a meal but would probably go elsewhere.

TLDR: Terrible breakfast food, but decent drinks.

Food: Worst breakfast food I’ve ever had, especially considering it was over $50 for two… and the reason I felt compelled to make a review. I had the biscuits and gravy, with the biscuit texture-wise tasting undercooked and just… wrong. The gravy itself was extremely bland and it took copious amounts of salt and pepper to make it passable. It also came with a side of hashbrowns which, again, were the most bland and undercooked ones I’ve tasted. My significant other had a custom omelette which was just ok, but the sides were the same as mine and just not good.
I was here for a planned event, and the consensus with everyone else I was here with was the same with breakfast being terrible and not worth it. They did say, however, that lunch and dinner options were better. I suggest coming outside breakfast hours, or simply going somewhere else if you’re staying at the hotel.

Drinks: If you’re here for the bar, its better for that. Definitely expensive ($40 for two shots), but I expected that for the area. The Green Tea shots were pretty awesome, and would get those again if I came back. They were slow with service, or a least ill-prepared… they only had one bartender for the planned event, and for the public. On a Friday night. Maybe its different for other times, but that was the experience that night.

We happen to be going to the convention at the Hyatt so we stopped here to eat. I really liked the food. It was pretty overpriced but it was nice to see they had vegetarian and vegan options available.

The service was not so great. We had to wait a really long time to get anything including drinks. Our waitress seemed like she had no idea what she was doing. We had to keep asking someone else for help.

Again I liked the food more than the experience of eating here.

Great atmosphere and service however we ordered the smoked Mac and their peach salad. The peach salad was only edible because of the dressing and as for the Mac, Velveeta shells and cheese would have tasted better. Unfortunately, I would not go back. Maybe some of their other food is good but I would need considerable feedback to try it again.

The servers are really great here. We had dinner and breakfast and both meals were really delicious. I’d eat here again for sure. Huge portions of food and fresh ingredients.
