This restaurant has a nice, fancy atmosphere without feeling like an overly expensive or heavy steakhouse. It’s perfect for celebrating special occasions, date nights, or a girls’ night out. We visited on New Year’s Day with my family, and it was a great choice for the occasion.

I purchased a Groupon deal for a weekday special that included a starter, two pastas, a drink, and a dessert. For the starter, we had the lobster bisque—it was creamy with a nice tomato flavor. I didn’t taste much lobster, but it was still enjoyable.

We ordered the tagliatelle and fusilli bolognese for our pasta choices, along with a fish dish. The pastas were cooked well, but since I usually prefer pasta with richer, more generous sauces, the bolognese felt a bit dry for my taste. The fish I chose was nicely prepared—crispy on the outside and tender inside. The cherry tomatoes added a refreshing contrast to the buttery flavors. The potatoes were good, though I would have been fine with a smaller portion. I also really liked the clams included in the dish.

For dessert, we ordered the chocolate mousse, and our server kindly offered us tiramisu as well, which made our New Year’s Day even more memorable. Our server was professional, polite, and attentive throughout the meal.

Overall, a lovely experience with great service and a beautiful atmosphere.

The food, to put it frank, was fine. The service, however, is the reason I am choosing to leave a review.

We had a reservation, and when we arrived at 9 PM, there was no one at the host stand to greet or seat us. So, we waited. We waited for a while before a bartender shouted at us from the bar area to ask if we had been helped yet. She then told us to go seat ourselves and that somebody would greet us at our table. And again, we waited. No menus, no servers. Oddly, once a server finally got around to us, no welcome or greeting – he just handed the two of us one menu and his first words were that we had one hour to eat. For reference, the restaurant’s website and the Google Maps page indicate that the restaurant is open until 11 PM on Saturdays. They even have reservations as late as 10:45 PM on OpenTable! Nonetheless, we agreed that we could eat from 9:20 PM to 10 PM. To his credit, one of the bussers/food runners noticed we had to uncomfortably crane our necks to read the options, so he kindly brought over an additional menu. When we placed our orders, again, the server was curt. We were not checked on throughout our dinner. Note that the restaurant wasn’t even busy this evening; most tables were empty. The service made for a mildly unpleasant dining experience.

What is saving this review was the food, which was solid. The seafood linguine ($28) was the highlight – flavorful sauce, nicely cooked linguine, and delicious seafood array. The steak ($30) was alright, but lacked much flavor. And finally, the risotto ($28) with scallops (+$12) was the most disappointing dish. Quite pricey, and it came out slightly cold. This risotto was particularly bland. The scallops, however, were cooked beautifully.

I would not recommend Divino. There are many excellent Italian restaurants in the Georgetown area, let alone all of DC. I recommend you seek out higher quality food and better value elsewhere.

EDIT: Luca, the restaurant owner, very kindly followed up with me to hear more about my experience. I appreciated his thoughtful gesture to reach out to apologize for our experience.

We placed our reservation shortly before our arrival, having known that there had been open availability for most of the night. It is fair to say the restaurant may not have realized we were planning to come. Luca clarified there was an event planned at the restaurant that evening – hence, why we had to finish our meal early and, likewise, why it was a bit hectic for the staff.

I trust that Luca is well-meaning in making sure his guests have a wonderful dining experience. I would consider returning with a more advance reservation to perhaps enjoy new menu items. I leave my review here to share an experience, albeit hopefully a one-off moment for the restaurant.

Went to DIVINO to celebrate my bf’s birthday. It was such an awesome experience! The service was AMAZING and food was also great. The mocktails were definitely the best ones I’ve ever had in DMV area. I’ll definitely go back again!!!

Divino is a great spot! Their mushroom risotto is really tasty and the dining room area is gorgeous and has a great ambiance. They have a lot of creative cocktails too including a truffle vesper. Definitely would recommend!

I was recently staying at the Glover Park Hotel and had the pleasure to dine at Divino on the 3rd and 4th of December. I don’t think I have ever written a restaurant review before, but I think everyone should know this was an experience that was above and beyond most.

I also usually do not dine at the same place 2 nights in a row but I was so captivated by my meal on the 3rd that I had to try again!

I sat at the bar (I must add that the bartenders were awesome, very friendly and skilled) and had ordered my meal (Burrata app and Chicken Milanese). I was enjoying the app and some red wine, when I can only assume the owner/manager came over and asked me how things were going. We spoke briefly and he said, “I’m going to bring you out some pasta to try”. I thought – ok, thanks, what a nice gesture….then the food came out. It was Linguine Frutti di Mare. This is something I would probably never order….but it was amazing. The sauce was perfect. The Milanese – also, just wonderful. I could hardly walk out but because everything was so good I had to try dessert – Tiramisu. Sooooo good!

The next night was just as good – I ordered the Polpette and bread basket to begin. Then before I could put in a main order, the bartender presented me with a bowl of Lobster Bisque. It was GREAT! Dessert was the Chocolate Mousse. What a talented chef! The staff was professional and the my time at Divino was nothing but a pleasure.

I told the staff that I would spread the word!

I live near this restaurant and sometimes stop by for drinks, but I rarely eat here. It’s a nice place to sit, but the couple of times I ordered French fries, the quality wasn’t good.

The fries in this picture, for example, weren’t crispy or freshly made. Even though they were served very hot, it was obvious they had just been reheated in the oven after being pre-fried. They also had an unpleasant smell.

A Truly Memorable Anniversary Dinner at DinVino

We celebrated our anniversary at DinVino, and I can confidently say this was one of the most beautiful dining experiences we’ve ever had.

First off, the dining room is stunning—warm, intimate, and tastefully elegant. We had a 5:00 PM reservation and arrived about 15 minutes early. Although dinner service doesn’t officially begin until 5, the staff kindly seated us in the dining room and offered drinks instead of asking us to wait at the bar. That small act of hospitality set the tone for the entire evening.

We originally hoped to take advantage of happy hour, which is available only at the bar or outside patio, but our incredibly gracious waiter made an exception and allowed us to order from the happy hour menu from our table. We were so appreciative of this gesture. We ended up ordering four appetizers (two from happy hour menu and two from regular menu), two drinks, two entrees, a tiramisu, and another glass of wine. Everything was delicious; the flavors were balanced.

When I mentioned toward the end of our meal that it was our anniversary and how much we loved the food, our waiter surprised us by offering us a taste of limoncello, a traditional Italian after-dinner digestive. It was such a sweet and unexpected touch that made our evening even more special.

We were never rushed and ended up staying until around 7 or 7:30. The staff gave us space while still being attentive shoutout to the people who brought out our food, cleared our plates, and the gentleman who checked on us after the meal. Everyone made us feel welcome and cared for. We were even lucky enough to have the dining room basically to ourselves, which made the evening feel like a private, romantic dinner.

A huge thank you to our waiter, who was incredibly kind and professional throughout and didn’t even know until the very end that it was a special occasion. You made our night.

My only (very small) critique: I wish bread had been included and that the steak came with at least one side. But those are minor things in what was otherwise a truly wonderful night.

We’re so grateful to DinVino for this memorable evening. I’ll absolutely be recommending this place to others and will definitely be back.

I enjoyed Divino with my Fiancé. Though the instructions mention that parking is P2 for the restaurant you can park in P3 as well. Parking is very tight so don’t park there if you have an SUV or Truck. The restaurant is very nice, and has everything you need for a typical Italian setting. Prices are also reasonable and our server Norberto was amazing and really was the masterpiece of our visit.

We visited this restaurant today, and I am still amazed by how absolutely outstanding the food was! It’s not just delicious — it’s a true culinary delight, where every bite feels unforgettable and you want it to last forever.
A very special thank you to Edwin Portillo. His professionalism, warm attitude, and impeccable service made our experience exceptional. Employees like him are rare, and he is a true treasure for this restaurant.
I also want to highlight something important:
this restaurant deserves so much more than being attached to this hotel.
The hotel itself would get 2 out of 5 stars from me, but the restaurant is a solid, confident 10 out of 10!
The food is flawless.
The atmosphere is cozy and elegant.
The service is on the level of top European restaurants.
This is a place you absolutely must visit if you want a truly memorable dining experience. We were beyond impressed! ✨

I haven’t been overwhelmingly impressed by hotel restaurants in my lifetime, but this place sets precedent. Absolutely stunning ambiance throughout, from the Gatsby-esque glowing bar area to the warm dining room with rich wood tables and surprisingly comfy blue couch booths (love the blues). The food is superb, and I appreciate that the menu isn’t 14 pages long. You can taste the care in the ingredients and in the presentation of each dish. The prefix dinner selection with wine pairings was a fun detour. Absolutely lovely. Highly recommend.
