I ordered an ice cream birthday cake from the Paris Baguette in Belle Mead for my son’s birthday party on Friday (01/09/2026). When placing the order, the associate asked if I wanted writing on the cake, and I gave clear instructions, which were written down and confirmed.
When we opened the cake at the party, nothing had been written on it. There was just a bar with Paris Baguette written on it, on top of the cake. The cardboard on which the cake sat was blank. It resulted in embarrassment and sadness.
It was past their closing time that night, so I returned to the store on Sunday, 01/11/2026 around 4:00 pm to speak with the manager. Instead of an apology or acknowledgment of the mistake, I was told that “not writing on a cake is not that big a deal,” and told that I was being aggressive when I said that it is a big deal when it is part of the order for a birthday cake. I was then patronized when I asked for resolution (“Do you want another cake? Well, THAT isn’t going to happen.” ). He kept asking me to “Tell me what you want.” When I asked for compensation, he mocked me with, “Did you eat the cake?” I was repeatedly told to calm down while the manager raised his own voice, and was gesturing very disrespectfully. I was ultimately told to “leave and never come back.”
I was not seeking conflict—an acknowledgment and apology alone would have gone a long way. The complete lack of professionalism and basic courtesy from management was shocking. I was happy when this store opened in my neighborhood, and have been a repeat customer.
I will not be returning and would caution others, especially for special occasions.
Update: The ownership team reached out, apologized, issued a full refund, and confirmed they would address the manager’s conduct. I appreciate their follow-up.

Paris Baguette Montgomery is amazing! The pastries are always fresh and delicious, the cakes are beautiful and not too sweet, and the staff is super friendly. Such a great spot for coffee, bread, or a treat!

Every time I visit Paris Baguette, I’m impressed by the variety of delicious treats they offer. The berry tart is my absolute favorite! The service is always friendly and welcoming, and I love that there are so many options to choose from. Plus, their rewards program is a great perk—you even get a free reward just for joining. ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk, but it tasted like it was made with water. I asked for a remake, and although they said they redid it, the matcha still tasted watery. Enjoyed the bright and spacious environment over a cup of latte and a piece of savory breakfast pastry. They have a great selection of freshly made baked items in glass displays and available for self-service. The place was not crowded at all on a Saturday morning. I was able to get some work done with the available Wi-Fi too.

My favorite dessert stop. This location is absolutely cute and asthletically amazing. Love the store, love the staff coz they are super friendly and of course love all the items on their menu. Airy croissant and mocha pastry is a must try. The store looks brand new and they got decent options on the menu even though not everything compared to their other sister stores.

You can’t go wrong with anything here but the mango coconut cake, curry croquette, and fruit pastry are our favorites.
We’ve always gotten birthday cakes from them as well, and recently had a family member become sick the day of the celebration. The manager at this location was extremely accommodating and assisted me in cancelling the order for our cake. We will continue to purchase cakes for every celebration from this location since baked goods are such good quality and the team has been super kind to us. Thank you!
