Jessica and her team were wonderful. I had the duck, chicken and rice soup, shrimp and broccoli. I always enjoy myself here. The staff is friendly, welcoming and personable.

This place is great! The menu is perfect where you can add many different sides to combos for just a couple dollars and fulfill all your Chinese food fantasies haha. Some days better than others, but it’s always very solid. Unbeatable prices, huge portions, and delicious food.
The veggie fried rice and lo mein are the best I’ve had. They get the perfect light char and a healthy amount of bean sprouts which is what makes lo mein good and so many spots miss. The beef teryikai is sometimes off but 90% of the time it’s incredible especially if you don’t get a full order. It gets more slow cooked and crispy haha.
The weekday lunch chef seems to never miss! I noticed you’re down on doordash and hope to see you back soon.

Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant at Harvard Square is a true gem! From the moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in the lively ambiance that perfectly complements the exceptional cuisine.
The menu offers an incredible array of authentic dishes, each prepared with the finest ingredients and bursting with flavor. The General Tso’s Chicken and Crispy Duck are personal favorites—simply divine!
The service is top-notch, with attentive staff who ensure your dining experience is flawless from start to finish. Whether you’re here for a quick bite or a full dinner, Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant never disappoints. A must-visit for anyone in the area!

Just terrible….. with my plate I have 4 boneless spareribs. Which Chinese food plate does that. Then look at my friends plate nice big and full. I am so tired of this location. I am not a college kid I want what I pay for

Food was decent, atmosphere was good and the service was good until they didn’t appreciate the tip we had left because they wanted a higher tip which we felt forced to give. Tips are optional and it was very rude being stopped on our way out based off wanting more than what we believed they deserved. This restaurant needs to fix that issue. When I put my coat on and place my phone in my pocket I should be left alone to leave and not have to experience that situation in front of other people dining in there. Had an amazing dining experience until this happend.

The service was nice, and the staff were friendly. The atmosphere had low lighting which I wish was brighter. On the whole, the food was good for a fast food Chinese style restaurant. I enjoyed their eggplant in spicy sauce, their spicy dry green beans, their egg friend rice, and their vegetable tempura. The tempura came with an apple sauce for dipping which was unique yet delicious. The fact that this place is open late is really nice. I recommend if someone wants an affordable meal that will fill you and make you feel warm on a cold day.

The Yuxiang Eggplant was excessively sweet, which made it quite unpleasant to eat. When I brought this up to the server, they said,”We can’t do anything about it, our restaurant has been open for 70 years.” We didn’t order the dishes the server originally recommended, and afterward they commented,”that’s what you get for not ordering what I suggested.” I have reasonable doubt that the restaurant deliberately made the dish taste bad because we didn’t follow their recommendation. Very disappointing experience——WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Don’t be discouraged by random reviews you read, since I’ve been there 100+ times 🙂 Hong Kong has been a Harvard Square go-to for the last 7 years (4 years at Harvard College and 3 so far at med school). The lunch and dinner combos are probably the best price-to-quality option you will find in Boston, with generous portions of vegetables and meat, and in my experience, consistently fresher ingredients relative to other cheaper Chinese restaurants. Servers are friendly and funny too. If you are a regular they treat you like family.
Not sure what the bar is like; I only go there for food.

This place has great tasting food and it is traditional American Chinese food! They make the food cooked to order and the food has plenty of flavor. The staff was fantastic from the minute we walked in and the portion sizes are huge. Highly recommended if you looking for Chinese in Boston!

Good old school American chinese food. May be good to upgrade the tastes to the newer gen. Service is very friendly, quality of food is good and prices very reasonable. Especially good for young people to fill their stomach
