The only reason I’m not rating them five stars is that it took 45 minutes to get our food, which is not anyone’s fault except maybe they were short staffed in the kitchen.
Our meals were hot and delicious and the happy hour drinks were very good and were a superb value.
Try this place out when you are around Roanoke.
We were a bit surprised how long it took to get our appetizers and beers. We ordered wine, and apparently they couldn’t find their wine opener. As well as beers, which we also had to wait for 10mins to receive? 3pm on a Saturday with the restaurant being half full, we did not complain but noticed between drinks and appetizers, they were running slow.
After we got our food, no complaints, everything was fresh and well prepared. I would def recommend the bacon jam burger with a side of jalepenños.
If you’re looking to relax, sit on the opposite side of the divider away from the bar. If you’d like a louder or more social atmosphere, grab a high top near the bar. Plus it seems that you get better service up there as well.
We plan to return during warmer weather and try out their open air patio area, which appears to offer bar service as well.
We plan to return and update this review if our experience changes.
*** have revisited a couple times. Atmosphere continues to impress. Live music on the patio on good weather weekends. Burgers & drinks @ the bar. Lobster rolls are an awesome appetizer option. Fresh and very enjoyable. We have ordered coconut ship now multiple times as an app and will likely continue to. One of our fav items on the menu.
~ Would love to see a local / grass fed beef option for burgers on the menu. There’s lots of burger options, I’ve only tried a couple, they were both up to par. I think a premium quality meat option would take it to the top ~
Atmosphere and service continue to improve since this establishment opened.
The second time was about two weeks ago and I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was very watery and the batter was soggy like it had been sitting in a warmer. Fries were actually very good but the slaw was basically shredded cabbage in mayonnaise with water like it had been sitting in the cooler for some time.
Understand that I’m impartial and call it like I see it and actually give restaurants at least two tries to make sure it wasn’t just a bad day and such to be perfectly fair. I’ve eaten at many different places from casual dining to more upscale places and have had good and bad food from restaurants on each level. I hope that Pollard takes this as constructive criticism and not just bashing them and can make improvements becoming even better.
Atmosphere – A contemporary, industrial resto bar is the vibe of the place. They offer an outdoor bar as well as a green patio. With a sip of cocktail, enjoy an outside area featuring couches and a fire pit.I believe they also have a venue where they perform live at night.
Service – Because it was the weekend, I believe the service was a little understaffed when we visited. The server made an effort to meet our needs and was really kind.
Food – The visual.aesthetic is stunning, but the taste is lacking, making the actual eating experience underwhelming. The grilled chicken is a bit tough to chew, my pasta is bland, and the wings are a little undercooked. But the nachos with beef were delicious.
So if you wanna chill one weekend night, this is a place where you can go
