When we are in Townsend visiting family, we usually go to The Mint for good food and good service.
Yesterday (9/14/25) we received AWESOME service! Between Cheyenne and Katie – it was so much fun – they gave excellent service and made sure we were taken care of, that the food was good and cooked to some of our requests (super crispy bacon), and kept checking with us to see if we needed anything else! Will definitely be back because of them! If you go into The Mint T because of my review – ask for Cheyenne and Katie and tell them Shane sent you!

One of the best breakfast places I have ever had. The food portions are very big, I almost didn’t finish my food, very filling. This plate was around $14 which is a very fair price. Definitely try them out. Local friendly place.

Ordered the western burger, this is what I received. Not what I ordered. Gave it a shot and it was awful.

Down home environment. Cozy and friendly. And the steak is so good. You must try one!

I ordered a grilled tuna. Pretty good but lacked a little flavor. Not sure why. But the chicken fried steak my husband got was good.

Waitress forgot to take our order. After apologizing for her mistake I figured it would be all good. Ordered a side salad and never got it, never checked on us. Would have been nice to actually get what we ordered and maybe asked if we wanted a dessert or a drink refill. We are local and have visited several times a year for almost 20 years. Place is going down hill. We were one of only 3 tables. 4 employees to busy talking about floating the river instead of actually working.

I come to the Mint most Wednesday’s for a Bible study group, and we are almost always served by a very sweet lady named Sue. So I base this review off of approximately 10 or more visits in the last 9 months.

I have had about 5 of the different breakfasts here, as our group meets at 8am, and so far I have been impressed with each and every one of them. Mostly eggs, and the omelets were gigantic and stuffed! They have a HUGE portion of hash browns, and the over easy eggs come out runny every time.

I’ve also had the pancakes, and what I REALLY like about all their breakfasts is that the meat servings come in 4s instead of 2s, which most restaurants serve them in. The bacon used to be thicker, it seems to be a little thinner now though, but 4 slices is way better than 2!

Today I tried something called the smasher, and it was tater tot’s with every kind of meat and cheese and gravy and eggs smashed on top! It was very good.

Admittedly, I haven’t tried anything but the breakfasts, but I certainly would if I was there at that time. The prices are not super high yet either. And the best is Sue, she takes very good care of our whole group of 12-15 on Wednesday mornings! Thanks Sue!
