Went for the Ravioli, left with inspiration. Something about this place feels like home to those who are searching for a bit of magic in Santa Barbara. Enjoy the art, feel the energy, embrace the intentional ingredients and preparation. There is more than meets the eyes here. Thank you Roy (and Rhonda) for providing the experience. I could have taken better photos of the food and somehow the best Ravioli of my lifetime didn’t even make it to the photo, but Roy and I look fly

Had a nice dinner here.
Parked around behind the restaurant in Lot 2. Free 75 minute parking and just take the stairs down from the back of the parking structure and turn right to get to the restaurant.
Service was friendly.
Had the crabcake appetizer with asparagus, it was yummy
Fresh pasta was fantastic, so much better than the dried stuff.

One of my favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. Owner can often be found cooking in the kitchen. Best soups ever! If you can get the carrot soup do not miss it. Open late!

This place was awesome. The house salad was the best I’ve had in such a long time! The hand made pasta and meatballs were delectable! It was empty on a Tuesday night which there’s nothing wrong with. Service was quick and delicious!

Roy is a Santa Barbara culinary and cultural jewel. Roy restaurant is as near an embodiment of an actual person as I’ve ever seen; in other words Roy has soul.
Great food items created and crafted from the mind of Roy Gandy are laid out on handwritten menus and feature local organic produce and seafood. Roy also serves food late so it’s a great place to get excellent food when most other kitchens have cooled. The decor features rotating collections of artwork from local artists and beyond. There are also relics from local landmarks gone-by like the large neon Jolly Tiger backlighting the bar. They also often have live music on weekend; Call ahead for schedule.

As a native Buffalonian I was so excited to find out that the owner is from the Buffalo area. Brought my visiting family in and everyone was so happy to see the Buffalo Bills decor. Love a handwritten menu. Food was solid. The flavor of the wings was correct, but they were just tiny. Next time I’ll order a side with the wings. But for being 3000 miles from home, it hit the spot. I’ll definitely be back!

Took my girlfriend on a date here because I wanted somewhere fancy to eat to end my visit to Santa Barbara on a high note. Absolutely awesome atmosphere and gorgeous place. The food was 10/10
I had the Bacon-wrapped Filet Mignon and it was to die for, totally recommend it.
I also recommend the cheese board appetizer, the flavors were really nice.

I was really disappointed in my meal after having read so many great reviews. The server was very friendly, however that’s the only positive thing I could say about the dining. The food service was quite slow; it took approximately 45 minutes to get from ordering to eating. I ordered the pasta with chicken and it was a total disappointment. The food was completely bland, the sauce was basically water, and I left about as hungry as I was when I came in. This was the first time I’ve ever had to use the salt shaker on the table at a restaurant. After all was said and done, $40 for watery bland pasta was not what I had in mind for a nice meal out. Maybe times have changed – I can’t recommend this place in good conscience.

Waited 30 minutes on a very dead night for these $8 soggy fries. I was told this was a “medium amount” of fries by the bartender, but I don’t even think it’s more than a McDonald’s small fry. Very disappointed with the food and service at this place
